We stayed in this hotel in the middle of November, have no faults with the hotel at all. All the staff are friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel is close to the sky train (10 minute walk away) and then you can get to anywhere within Bangkok! Will be back to stay in this hotel again!

From arriving at hotel we were greated very well made to feel comfortable while we were checked in, shown to our rooms and our luggage arrived 5 minutes after us. Rooms were excellent very clean, with a view over the pool area. Beds turned down each night with an orchard lovely touch!
Staff were very helpfull and friendly.
Have breakfast each morning in the supermarket down the road cheaper than the hotel if you havent paid for it.
Hotel is situated in an ideal spot 5 minutes walk from the skytrain, recommend getting that to go to the night market, downtown to go shopping and if you are feeling energetic and want to avoid the hell that is Bangkoks traffic then get the sky train to the end of the line (you have to change lines) and walk the 20/30 minutes to China town, the Royal Palace and Kosan road, it is doeable as we did it with an ordinary tourist map. There were 4 of us, we felt very safe walking the streets plus you get to see parts of Bangkok you wouldnt normally see. Don't forget to see the flower market and get a Tuk Tuk an experience!
Recommend the "Cabbages and Condom" restraunt on Sukhumvit 12, great place to eat and it funds the family planning in Bangkok. The local cafe the next street down, it has about four different stalls in it looks quite cheap plastic table clothes etc but cheap lovely local food. Pillow club restraunt and the Cowboy club that is on Sukhumvit 5 NOT a sex show or ping pong but there are topless women, being a woman I didn't feel offended by it the girls in there are very friendly to women and you dont feel intimidated by them if you go in with a man lol.
But would definatly stop at Bel-Aire again

Stayed for 3 nights before touring North Thailand. Booked a club tribeca room which included breakfast and free beer/wine between 5 and 7 pm. Room was excellent and staff very friendly. Easy to walk from here to the skytrain which is a great way of getting around and takes you down to the river from where you can get a boat to some of the main attractions such as the Royal Palace and Wat Pho. Plenty of reasonably priced restaurants near the hotel or one or two stops away on the skytrain. A 125 baht day ticket which can be bought at the booth gives you a full days use on this. Gullivers just down the road is a good place to sit outside for a drink and watch the street go by. Sad to see a couple of elephants being toured around with tourists being sold bananas to feed them with. The seedy side of the area mentioned by others is not really in your face. All in all a good base to stay - recommended.

Wonderfully located hotel right on Sukhumvit, great rates, good food, free internet is a big plus. Foodland store almost opposite the hotel. On the minus side, at the end of a seedy lane, and flooded when it rains.

This hotel is close to plenty of bars and eating places. Its lovely and clean and the rooms are extremely spacious. There were 2 king sized beds in ours and still loadsof space.Robes, slippers, all toileteries and tea and coffee making facilities, fridge.Pool is nice and hotel provides pool towels. The staff are very friendly and courteous. We didn't eat in the hotel but there are so many cheap places close by. Foodland is brilliant value for money....its the supermarket towards the end of the same road.Sit at the bar/cafe type area and order ,reasonable portions and excellent prices. It gets very busy though.Hotel down the road (cant remember what its called but there is a massive banner suspended across the road advertising breakfast)does a buffet breakfast for 139 baht, just walk in .Bacon ,scrambled egg, etc, noodles, cake, coffee all sorts really.Sky train is a short walk from hotel and the cashiers at the station speak good english and will explain what to do.Info comes up on the screen on train too regarding next station etc.Al in all ,very convenient, clean , pleasant hotel.

We arrived at the Bel Aire Princess at 3am. The check in was smooth and we were quickly settled into our room much to our relief. The staff were excellent especially considering our grumpy states at that time of morning.

We had a problem with the toilet and within 30mins of reporting the matter a repairman was in our room fixing it. We couldnt have asked for a better response.

The breakfast buffet was delicious. They had a good selection of hot and cold foods and the bacon cooked just the way I like it. dinner was good too. Housekeeping were great and kept our room clean.

The hotel is about 15mins slow walk stopping to look along the way from Nana station. A short trip will get you to the central shopping district of MBK and National stadium. On the way you'll come across Gullivers pub. It has free internet, buy a beer and they'll give you a wireless code so you can use your own laptop.

I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed 4 nights. As regard the 'pluses' pretty well much what recent reviewers have said; however the neighbourhood??

Lets put it this way, after going away for a few days, I did some research and found that the 'nicest' area to stay (for me) was in the Embassies district, nearer to the main shopping area (Centre of the World I think its called). Not nearly as run-down as everywhere else in Bangkok.

By-the-way, for shopping you cant beat the 'MBK' Centre near National Stadium. Middle-of-the-road, not upmarket (expensive).
