Great location and charmingly decorated. Typical Chinese hotel. We enjoyed the balcony but there were no chairs to relax on while enjoying the view of the river. Low season price was $42.00 per night. The room (#1906) was dated and these little biting gnats were a bother. The revolving restaurant had fantastic sushi and the service was good. The little hole in the wall restaurant across the drive way from the reception desk was a good value. We ate there every morning.

We stayed here for 3 nights, the room was excellent, the view was outstanding. We used the revolving restaurant, which again have beautiful views, especially when the city is lit up at night, however the a la carte food was a bit bland, maybe we were expecting too much, but we found their was a lot of English food on the menu, which is not what we went to Thailand for!! However, breakfast in the main restaurant is outstanding, their is choice for English, American, Continental and Asian guests. The spread is just fantastic!!!
Location wise it is in the heart of china town and once you get your bearings is easy to navigate.
The staff are so helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again

When i booked a family holiday to Thailand i wanted to show my wife and son the Thailand that i saw 5 years earlier with my mates.
I booked 5 nights in Bangkok for the shopping and food experience, our travel agent assured me that staying the heart of China town was the best place to do so and that the Grand China Princess was the place to stay.
I was left a little disappointed and my wife a little underwhelmed of what a great city Bangkok is.
Whilst China town in Bangkok is great for a day trip it is 10 years behind the more exciting and family friendly parts of Bangkok (Siam etc)
The same can be said about the hotel. (The Grand China Princess) once upon a time would of been the best hotel in Bangkok yet today it is a former shell of itself. The building it was in, was run down and short of other tenants that are meant to make up the shopping levels of this high rise. The dining experience was pretty poor and being in a less then favorable part of this great city meant that dining options within walking distance were not there.
The rooms were clean and the service was outstanding and there were great views from the roof top pool, (which needs to fixed up) however this is not a family hotel.

Hotel ideally located in the heart of Chinatown in Bangkok. Wide range of breakfast (rice, eggs, bread, vegetables, fruits, etc...)
Typically Asian hotel with somewhat outdated furniture, but at the same time that's the charm of this hotel. Hotel has an overall clean look. Room & bathroom are clean as well. We were located in a spacious family room at 22nd floor, resulting in a magnificent panoramic view over Bangkok.
Swimming pool is small but nice on rooftop.
I would recommend to have a drink in the evening at the restaurant situated on 25th floor of hotel, restaurant gives a 360 degree scenic view on Bangkok skyline with its shimmering lights. All in all, hotel is ideally located in the heart of Chinatown and to go for a stroll to discover Chinatown in all its glory with all its numerous foodstalls and shops including its numerous alleyways.

Short ride from train station, right on main drag of Chinatown (restaurants and shopping).Hotel room was exceedingly clean anc comfortable; electric kettle and hairdryer provided. 15th floor room looked nearly new; higher floors may be subject to renovation: check with hotel. Don't worry about the view: all views are of unremarkable cityscape, river is not in view anywhere from the hotel. The reception counter staff were all very helpful and welcoming (good English).
Easy 3-4 block walk to river terminal #5, a good way to get around avoiding the terrible road traffic.
Please always give a disapproving "thumbs-down" gesture to the nearby restaurants that display dried shark fins.
Westerner found breakfast excellent; Chinese person found breakfast disappointing.
HINT: Make sure that the taxi uses the meter; even an experienced Asia traveller can forget to notice, and an argument can ensue! Take a metered taxi to calibrate how inflated the tuk-tuk initial rates are likely to be!.

Room Tip: 15th floor room appeared new; excellent.

This hotel has really good location. it locate in the China Town, which is very easy to go to shopping in there. Good food, good room, but So so service. Personally I think this hotel is worth for Family and Friends, not for honeymoon!! Overall i like this place. Probably the best in Bangkok's China Town.

we stayed at this Hotel for 5 nights on the 22nd floor overlooking the river. awesome view over the city. we slept with the curtains open most nights to take in the views and the thunderstorms passing by. while not top class, it was clean, well located in the middle of China town, the service and information offered by staff was great. we haven't traveled much at all, but felt safe and well informed to enjoy what Bangkok has to offer. The revolving restaurant at the top of the hotel was well worth the visit, food was good, there are two restaurants in the hotel. The rooftop pool was rather small, and not a feature worth going for. breakfast was very good, lots to choose from.
would definitely go back
