The room we stayed in was nice and the air con took the edge off the heat nicely. Breakfast also offered a lot of choices, from typical western breakfast options to a good selection of asian dishes too.
The location is good, a ten-fifteen minute walk to the train station and the temples are easily accessible. Chinatown itself is a bit rough around the edges and we found the street food affordable yet underwhelming.
My one gripe with the grand china princess is the friendly tour people they let hang around the lobby; our first day there saw us offered a 100 baht trip that ended up turning into a 1600 baht boat ride... Yes we were gullible westerners but all the same, from that moment on every time we went through the lobby they tried to sell us another overpriced tour. Lame.
