“Each stay gets better and better”

Again we had chosen to stay at MOBK, it gets better each time which is hard to believe, but its FANTASTIC to see a hotel not rest on its laurels, but continue to improve and grow.
We stayed in Deluxe Room 1417, views fantastic, Floor Manager went above and beyond, all meals sublime. Staff are the biggest asset this hotel has by far.
It is far and away much better than any other 5* Hotels in Bangkok. Pay the extra and enjoy the experience. We have tried Sukhothai and Peninsular, whilst they have a good product, Sukhothai amazing staff, the rooms, food, ambiance and staff at MOBK are leagues ahead.
Well Done Mandarin Oriental Bangkok !!!!!!

If you like traditionally styled hotels with outstanding service and in a great location, this is the one for you. The orchids in the Lobby are breathtaking. We were invited to a cocktail party in the Authors Lounge the night we arrived, which was a good opportunity to meet some of the other guests.

The Oriental is wonderfully located on the Chao Praya river. Our Deluxe River View room (on the 19th floor) had a wonderful view of the river - it was fascinating watching the constant river traffic, much of it illuminated at night. The hotel has its own complimentary shuttle service to (among other places) the nearby pier, where one can catch the Skytrain (for example, direct to Jim Thompson's House). Despite its excellent location in this bustling city, it is very peaceful and nothing disturbed our sleep in the very comfortable bed.

The Riverside terrace restaurant (for the buffet breakfast and buffet or a la carte dinner) takes full advantage of its position. The buffet breakfast was outstanding, with excellent quality food (the best fresh fruit I have ever tasted), plenty of choice and eggs prepared to order. We had a la carte dinner there a couple of times and really enjoyed the Thai food we chose.

Lord Jim's is pricier, but well worth it, especially if you can get a window table with a view over the river - great seafood.

We also ate in the Chinese restaurant, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Our room was very comfortable with well thought-out, more than adequate lighting (which is where many other hotels fall down), an excellent bathroom (with superbly soft towels) and excellent technology, but was not very spacious for the money. A second armchair would have been preferable to a desk. The air conditioning was the quietest and most effective I have ever experienced - easy to adjust to just how you like it.

The Oriental has an outstanding reputation for service, which is fully deserved. We hardly ever opened a door or called a lift. The staff we came across were all absolutely charming - full of smiles and ever ready to help. My one criticism is that, on 2 evenings, the evening turn down service had not been while we were at dinner - poor timing.

This is at least the tenth time that we went back to Bangkok and as always we stayed at the Mandarin Oriental. We are always amazed with the high standard quality of everything, service, rooms, elegance, beautiful flowers ect ect.....not to mention the exquisite courtesy of the Guest Relation Manager Mrs. Nuansri Kumbanaruk

The hotel was quite lovely, amazing service, very elegant/upscale. The furnishings were high end and the property grounds are excellent. But you could certainly do better for the money... the room size was just average... a bit disappointed given the charge. The place just seemed overpriced. And they charge $20 for internet use on top of their rates, nor do they include breakfast? That seemed nuts for the cost. But if you like to have fancy pampering by staff maybe it's your kind of place.

The airport pick up was fantastic. Upon arrival we entered the orchid draped lobby, and were escorted to our 2 level room overlooking the river. Wow. We went to the dock and and they arranged a longtail boat tour of the city. Great thing to do upon arrival. The dock master was so great-I discovered that I had dropped some money in the longtail and later that evening as we were taking the hotel boat across the river I mentioned it to the dock master. I had no expectation of ever seeing that money again. Sure enough-during our dinner across the river at Sala Rim Naam (excellent) the hostess let me know that the dock master had contacted the longtail boat drive and he in fact found my money. I was shocked. I'm still in disbelief. We also had fantastic spa treatment across the river at the MO Spa. Be sure not to miss the nightclub act at the Blue Bar. She is so great-and the cocktails were outstanding. The buffet breakfast on the terrace is also great. The hotel and staff are fantastic.

I have always wanted to stay here and I am glad we finally got the chance. The service really is the best I've ever experienced. The hotel staff are incredible. Housekeepers recognized us by name even though we were only there for a few days. We stayed in an author's suite which was also amazing. Lots of character and lovely amenities.

The food in this hotel is also amazing. Every meal we had from room service to the restaurants was amazing, especially their Thai food.

The gym and spa were also great. More great service.

The only detriments were a kind of hard bed and slow service at the Veranda. Also the lobby is has strange decor. Not reflective of its reputation or history.
