Very Good hotel , very pricey for thailand and too uptight , very strict for thailand where everyone wheres shorts and sandles , theyre too fussy for resedence apearal !!! like wth , its just thailand and everything is casual dont act posh on us and sophiticated , ive been traveling there for many years and never seen somebody wearing a suit , the employee's offcourse just doing their job but the management need to re set their standards of dress code shud be dropped , specially with residence. - flexibility !!! i hate hotels that is not flexible.

service was warm and greeted nicely , wud go back there again .. maybe

..... and would do it all over again! Spent one night en route to Siem Reap and 4 nights after 7 days in Myanmar and 4 days in Phuket. Truly superb service in all respects. A "welcome back" bottle of wine on the second visit. A spectacular dinner at Normandie -food and service out of this world. The gym is large, equipment well maintained. The buffet breakfasts were varied and interesting. The room was cleverly functional, immaculately serviced, quiet and rest-inducing. Above all, the staff shone through with attentiveness and professionalism. It is really not necessary for the elevator attendant to remember on which floor our room was located and press the button before we entered..... but he did and it typifies the attention to detail that all the staff constantly show.

No question -a top rated hotel that exceeds expectations. We will return.

If you come to Bangkok, the Oriental is the place to stay. This trip is our third to Bangkok for my wife and me, but our first time at this Bangkok landmark. I'm pretty sure that you could not find better service anywhere. The staff here is really incredible. We are sharing a two bedroom suite on the 15 floor with friends, and the view of the river is worth the cost of our stay!

Room Tip: You want a river view, and you want to be on a top floor.

The 'Oriental' as it is affectionately referred to is the best hotel in Bangkok and one of the finest hotels in the world. Right on the Chua river there is no finner place to be in Bangkok.
The rooms are supurb (get a view facing the river in the new section) and the outdoor breakfast terrace area over looking the Chau River is wonderful.

This hotel is exceptional, the staff outnumber the guests and know your name before you checkin. They are courteous and respectful. Everything is done to perfection. And if you like Bangkok the location is second to none. On the busy river, you can while away hours just watching the river traffic.
We have stayed many times and would return again. Terrace restaurant and Lord Jims is favourite but the chinese is top quality and the grill something for a special occasion.
Spa is sooo relaxing.
Best of all are the beds and the sheets are the softess in the world

Room Tip: River view room
