Recently stayed 3 nights at the metropolitan and really enjoyed it. Stayed in a studio king room number 809 and it was a generous size room with a lovely bathroom and bath. Bonus was the generous number of bottle water and lovely bed linen, toiletries etc. Breakfast at cafe glow is fabulous and the options to choose from make your mouth water. Visited the Met bar which was very quiet on a Tue and Thursday night. The pool is great 25 metres and wide too, perfect if you are a swimmer. Location is approx 15 mins walk from pat pong rd which is nice and it is 10 mins from the train station which will take you to the major shopping centres. Used the hotel car service which was excellent too and well priced. Overall very satisfied.

I stayed in the Metropolitan for two nights with colleagues. The hotel's entrance is off the busy main road and thus managed to achieve a peaceful tranquil setting while being in a rather central position in Bangkok. While there's nothing really near by in terms of malls and other conveniences, these places are nevertheless not very far away that an easy taxi/tuk tuk ride cannot fix.

My room was huge and very very comfortable and clean. However, if traveling with younger children, I suspect they might find activities a bit lacking for them.

The staff were absolutely professional and friendly. We met one young man, Ian, while at breakfast. For breakfast, one can order from a menu for hot items. The large noodles with prawn topped with an egg is highly recommended. He and his staff took extremely good care of us during our time at the hotel.

We had dinner at Nahm (apparently made it as a top 50 restaurant in the world in one list) one night and the food was absolutely divine but be sure to make reservations early as it can be quite full. Be warn that some of the food can be quite spicy.

The hotel also has an excellent pool for laps or just plain lazing around. The spa is excellent and if convenience is what you need, more than stands on its own - albeit a bit more expensive than others than others that you can find not too far away.

All in all, a well maintained and managed hotel but I suspect may not be so suitable for families with young children.

Dear C_James06, thanks a lot for your visit and for your very kind and detailed review, on behalf of all of us, thanks a lot, it has been a pleasure to have you all with us.
We have shared your compliments with Ian and all our team, they would be very happy to know you have enjoyed their company and service.
Indeed our Nahm restaurant was awarded Top 32 restaurant in the world and it is a very unique experience into an authentic and traditional Thai cuisine, yes some of the dishes might be spicy and hopefully the team is there to guide our guests upon selection.
We would be delighted to welcome you back soon and hopefully you may want to travel with your family or children, in fact our Metropolitan rooms are very convenient, very large and we have connecting rooms King or Twin which most of the family we welcome find very convenient and comfortable, Bangkok is a very exciting city catering to all ages, so definitely a great family trip.
Anything you may need on advance, please let me know, warm regards, Jorge Monje.

Fourth time here and it hasn't lost any of it's charm. It has a calm members club feel to the place and I love coming back. It's always a highlight of a Thailand trip.

Great big comfy beds, lovely toiletries, brilliant healthy breakfast, big pool that gets sun all day and friendly staff that aren't over attentive are all qualities that keep me coming back.

Dear tjb77London, we feel very honor to keep on welcoming you back into our "friends club" and are very grateful for your visits and friendship.
Nothing more important to us than trying to make our guest feel at home and no better compliment than being able to achieve just that. In this regard, Metropolitan is a very special hotel with a huge percentage of regular guests that chose to come back again and again and value and appreciate the hotels atmosphere, facilities, food and of course our wonderful team.
As always, anything you may need, please let us know. Warm regards, Jorge Monje.

I stayed at the Metropolitan for 4 nights with a friend.
The hotel was absolutely outstanding. Tucked away from the busy main road, it was quiet and peaceful.
ALL the staff were amazing - friendly, professional, well-trained and had an obviously pride in their job and hotel.
The eye for detail in every aspect was spot on. This hotel is boutique style, with modesty and understated style.
Bottled water was on hand everywhere. Bathroom, beside bed, on top of minibar, and replenished morning and evening. Bottled water was available in gym and spa toilets. The cold, refrigerated (eucalyptus scented) towels in the gym was a special touch. Cold, iced water topped up around the pool.
We ate at Nham twice….most things were lovely, the only thing I'd say was that it was't much catering for the Western pallet (although 95% were not Asian). We had a few dishes that were way too hot to enjoy. Perhaps an 'indicator' against each dish to suggest it's strength based on the western pallet?

Dear MellyNichols, greetings from bustling Bangkok and all of us at the Metropolitan, we have enjoyed having you with us and are very grateful for your visit and very, very generous review.
It means a lot to us and our team will be very happy to know you had a nice stay and experience.
Really glad you got to eat at Nahm twice, as you know it is a very special and traditional Thai restaurant, really focus on providing a true immersion into a Thai Cuisine that in many cases it is not cooked any more, either because the dishes are too elaborate, complicated or the recipes were lost in time, as you've mentioned some of the dishes might be too spicy and very sorry our team was not able to inform or shared properly, some times its difficult for them as they do have a very different spiciness tolerance, we will share with them once again.
Please anything you may need in the future, let me know, hopefully we will welcome you back very soon. Warm regards, Jorge Monje.

Really nice place in Bangkok.
Feels like home.
Great place and location.
The spa is really clean and they do good massages. A bit on the pricy side tough. Nice pool area for relaxing from busy Bangkok. Great room service and very friendly staff.
Will be back - hopefully soon! ;-)

Thanks a lot for your very nice comments, happy to know you had enjoy the hotel, the team and our Nahm restaurant, indeed a very special, traditional Thai restaurant. They call themselves "your home away from home", which is a nice idea if you are a frequent guest there. I have stayed in this hotel the past 4 times I was in Bangkok and I will continue provided their rates are sensible. It is a modern, clean, boutique hotel with huge room space, an excellent gym and spa, and a good choice of restaurants. Recommended!
