“bad food, ordinary room and poor room layout”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 February 2010

"Disappointing". I stayed the 4 seasons for 3 nights last year and it was an utter letdown. The room was mainstream, ordinary and plain to say the least, it was a far cry from the photos they had published on their hotel website. Food was terrible! I had room service for 3 days, both lunch dinner and supper and i have had better street fare in bangkok compared to what their kitchen had prepared. Breakfast was no fun either as it wrapped up early...10.30am or 11am. The saving grace was its housekeeping which was always up to speed in freshening up the room and sheets. Location wise was so-so, it was quite a walk to the malls, and i would have preferred staying at the grand hyatt erawan which is right smacked opposite the shopping malls and surpassed the 4 seasons in terms of food quality, service, friendliness....

This hotel was a let-down. The location was good, right by the sky-train, but that was the extent of good things about the four seasons.

The service was very snobby. They constintly asked my room number to make sure that I was actually a guest of the hotel. I could not walk down the hallway without an employee accosting me.

Internet access is not free. I was expecting an urgent email, and went into the business center to simply open my inbox and check email. The employee at the business center informed me that I could only use the computer for 15 minutes once a day or a charge would be made to my room. When I asked if I could come in for 2 or 3 minutes at a time, this was unacceptable. For the price that people pay to stay in this hotel, computer use should be complimentary. In-room wi-fi and computer use was not complimentary either. In fact, nothing seemed to be complimentary!

The rudeness and overcharging for everything was unacceptable.

This hotel had an uncomfortable and unfriendly feel, and I would say that only older business people with a charge account would be happy and/or comfortable. here.

I stayed in this hotel with friends, and was not happy with my stay. First of all, everything was 10X the price of even similar hotels nearby. For pressing a pair of pants, the cost was USD $15! A coke from the minibar was $9.

Similar boutique hotels nearby were much less in price, and much friendlier in service. Do youself a favor and stay elsewhere!

Great location. Easy to walk to Chidlom station. Very central. Chose this hotel over Peninsula precisely because it is so accessible to everywhere. However, the decor of the corridors are old. Walls are thin and I can hear plumbing at night. Breakfast was great. Good variety. Staff was professional. This hotels just needs a facelift so badly.

The hotel has a perfect location in downtown Bangkok, close to skytrain station(only 2 minute walk to the closest station), and close to the major shopping area in Bangkok (five minutes walk to Central World). 3 minutes walk to the famous four face buddha temple. Hotel lobby is very beautiful, however, the room is a bid tired out, the bathroom does not live up to the Four Season's 5 star standard in terms of the cleaness and facilities. Overall, the hotel is suitable for first timer to Bangkok, very easy to get around the area. High recommended!

Now, we had not been to Thailand before and dreading a bad choice in either location or hotel we decided to choose a well known brand image. The price was extremely competitive, even though it was high season so we were happy to get a good hotel at such a good price.
The service : Home away from home: remarkable service. I think we never waited for longer than 5-10 minutes, no matter what the request was.
Food: Extremely good, authentic and i think was well portioned.
The location was amazing, right next to the skytrain and 1 block away from major areas. If you don't feel like spending money on hotel food, then just walk a couple of blocks to where the malls and restaurants are located.
The rooms were large, comfy and we didn't get an amazing view, it didn't matter because the inside of the hotel was beautiful enough. It really felt like home coming back to the hotel after a long day of sightseeing, especially because the staff is very meticulous and keeps things in perfect order for your return.
The Christmas tree was setup in the lobby while we were there, the entire atmosphere was designed to be very comfortable, i can imagine why this is such a well known brand across the world.
The front desk staff were very professional, courteous and helpful. We rarely had to call and make any request more than once, which is a pain we have suffered in other hotels during peak seasons , in other countries.
All in all, this is now our favorite hotel for our next trip to Bangkok and we shall not be staying anywhere else, unless the price is much higher. Or we just save more to cover the higher cost :-)

Fabulous hotel, located right near the malls. Clean, comfortable, luxurious rooms with extremely attentive staff.
We arrived very early in the morning and had requested an early check in (check in time is 3:00pm), when we got there the rooms were being made ready for us. The staff at the front desk suggested we grab some breakfast in the mean time. A truly phenomenal idea... i have never seen such a vast, varied and fresh spread at a hotel buffet.
Also worth a mention was the fabulous spa... try the traditional thai massage... never felt so relaxed!
