Check-in : We reached at 8 AM and they said we can check in around 10 AM . I was happy with that though they did not gave us room on Higher floor then 26th
Location : it has an awesome location which is center of town . Downside to it that there is lot of traffic!
Room : The room was excellent with very nice bed and View.
Food : We had a romantic dinner with view of the city and the salad was excellent.
Checkout - It was quick and Efficient
In all i am very happy with stay and we had a great time

Room Tip: Higher Rooms have a Amazing view.

I usually stay at the Holiday Inn Ploenchit but it was full on one of the days that I needed to stay so booked this property instead.

Arrival: We arrived via taxi and I want to say it was about 500THB including tolls, airport surcharge plus meter. The journe was less than 30 minutes but we arrived late and there was no traffic. Oddly enough the taxi driver knew the hotel as the Pan Pacific and it hasnt been that property for a while I think. There wasnt really anyone to meet us to help with bags just a person downstairs directing us to go up to the 23rd floor for check in (I think it was 23).

Check-In: At first nobody was there but after a moment a person arrived to check us in. At this late hour he knew who we were right away and procded to check us in and explain about the upgrade given as a Priority Club Platinum member. We were upgraded to a room with club floor benefits but the lounge was close and he explained breakfast would be in the restaurant and evening happy hour was in the bar.

Room: The room was nice and good size. We had a non somoking room but it still smelled of smoke but not so bad that it made me want to change rooms. There was also some fruite and chocolates waiting in our room and a note from management. I assume as a Platinum gift as well.

Restaurant: We really only had breakfast in the restaurant and it was a very good breakfast indeed. I would say one of the better ones we have had not only in quality but also in variety as it had not only western but also a variety of Asian offering as well. The service was also very good at the restaurant. I found the dining room very nice also. For the evening offering at the bar as the make shift lounge they had quite a few snacks and decent wines and service was again very good.

Location: I am not a huge fan of this location as it does not have the nicer shopping malls and restaurant offerings that the Holiday Inn Ploenchit has but you are not very far away and you have both the MRT and BTS right outside the hotel so you can get around very easily.

Summary: I will definitely return especially if the Platinum treatment is always this good. This property is a little more expensive than the Holiday Inn Ploenchit but it is also just a bit nicer.

Stayed there for 3 days a month ago at the start of an extended holiday in Thailand. I cannot believe the poor reviews that this hotel has received. I'm a Platinum Ambassador and usually stay in Intercontinentals and travel business class. I'm a seasoned traveller with over 110 countries visited so would like to think, especially as I'm retired and pay for travel/accommodation myself, I know good from bad. I tried the Crowne Plaza because of its location.
It is an improvement on the old Pan Pacific and although there is work going on it was never a problem for me. I met the manager, Mark Winterton, a couple of times and found him to be sincere, interested and clearly anxious to ensure that all worked smootly despite the workmen on site. We also met the Food and Beverage Manager from Portugal and the chef from Chicago both of whom answered our queries (my wife has a food allergy) and were keen to adapt to please.
Our room and public areas were clean, no sign of insects as mentioned by others, and food in the restaurant and coffee bar very good.
Would I stay again? - Yes - and hopefully that says it all!

Stayed 3 nights on 26th floor. Check in on 23rd floor; helpful staff and quick check in. Room had some issues including slow draining sink and leaking AC. Maintenance responded quickly, but after using the plunger for 15 minutes on the sink, maintenance was only able to get the drain to move a little faster; maintenance was able to fix the leaky AC, but only after the carpet was soaking wet after dripping all night (hopefully, the carpet is not ruined). Besides the above issues, the room is fine with comfortable beds, nice flat TV with cable and HBO, Japanese heated toilets. Location of hotel is close to both subway (Si Lom) and sky train (Sala Daeng) stations; very convenient. Club lounge on 31st floor is very nice with great collection of books (including Lonely Planet series books, very useful); breakfast in lounge is adequate (omelet station and nice variety of fruits); happy hour in lounge is 5-8PM, which has good amount of food. Fitness room and pool on 24th floor are adequate (could be better). Wireless internet was good; free for elite. Service is overall very good, with almost everyone friendly and nice, except for one or two people. This is a strong 4-star hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms on and 31st and 32nd floor seems to have direct access to the club lounge on 31st floor.

This hotel is a mix of good and bad siding just on the good side

Good
Location
Great breakfast (one of the best)
Big brand

Bad
Overpriced
Very surly unhelpful staff and managers
Sometimes noise from lobby due to layout

All in all the good outweighs the bad but expect basic service at check in
