“Luxury in Bangkok”
Reviewed 12 May 2012

It was the 2nd time we spent the beginning of our Thailand travel at The Peninsula in Bangkok. We had been very satisfied the first time and have not been disappointed now during our stay in April.
All the in advance requested requirements like Early Check-In, special room request had been fulfilled (and we arrived very early at 7am).
We received again an upgrade into a spacious Grand Deluxe Suite (22nd floor) with separate living, bed-room, a nice bathroom and an additional toilette. Everything of course with a fascinating view onto the river.
The bed was comfortable, A/C was working properly, special pillow request was served within 5 minutes. The room was cleaned at least 2 times a day.
Lightening system and electronic curtains are a nice special amenity.

We enjoyed as well an excellent Spa service. Of course not that cheap as outside of the hotel and more than what normally Thailand stands for, but service was excellent, very professional.....and very welcome after a 11 hours flight.

Pool area is one of the best in Bangkok, agree with all of the statements made about, pool service very quick and friendly. It was a bit crowded in April but you always found a place. Water is not really refreshing as to the hot weather conditions outside.

Some people complain about the location, as it's not in the direct center. However, with the boat shuttle and the train, as well as with the very low priced taxis you can receive everything in a short time. The taxi will take you for less than 100Baht to the shopping centers at Silom Paragon or Central World.

Breakfast buffet is outstanding with good quality and a variety of European / American items but as well as typical Asian food.
We also enjoyed evening dinner at their restaurants, really recommended, sitting next to the river, enjoying a nice drink and being served by very professional and friendly people. Prices are higher than outside, but comparable with other 5 star restaurants.

Overall, what we liked at the Peninsula, was the international flair, the professional and very kind staff, they really treat everybody as a special and very important guest. Being asked - we will come back of course.

Room Tip: Try to get one of their Suites (e.g. a Grand Deluxe Suite) on the higher floor, if not for free they...

I chose this hotel because I stayed some time ago in the Peninsula in Hong Kong. Although quite different in style, this Bangkok Peninsula offers an excellent experience. There is a good view over the river from the hotel rooms. The swimming pool area, and restaurant right alongside the river are very good. But what really stands out in this place is the Spa. Absolutely incredible and well worthwhile.
Attention and service are top level.
I would definitively come back here if visiting Bangkok again.

Stayed two nights in transit on my way to Australia - wish it could have been longer. I have stayed at the property a few years ago and am happy to report it is still the best in Bangkok. Staff is attentive and leave no absence of details in service. The location provides a peaceful retreat to often hectic Bangkok yet the frequent running of the river boats makes reaching the other side / BTS station a breeze.

Airport transportation was swift and comfortable (BMW 7 series) and even included wifi to check email, etc on the way to the hotel.
Upon arrival, i was given an early in-room check-in (arrived at 8am) which was most appreciated. The hotel also had provided a continental breakfast set-up in my room in anticipation of an easy and perfectly portioned breakfast to start the day.
The rooms have all the bells and whistles expected of a Pen hotel; comfortable, clean and always present is the highest in quality. The pool is a wonderful way to spend a day under a ceiling-fan Sala while reading a book or using the hotel wifi provided free at poolside.
The Gym and Spa are well equipped. Although the fitness center was being refurbished during my brief stay, the alternate location, near enough to the Spa, was more than suitable. I had the facility all to myself on both occasions in the evening.
Thai restaurant is excellent as is the main restaurant where an excellent breakfast buffet and service is presented.
Simply stated, the elegant and sophisticated feel of the property, combined with the fine level of Peninsula brand service makes this still the place to stay whenever one would be in need of luxury accommodations in Bangkok.

Room Tip: All rooms have river views. Add a deluxe with a balcony for a real treat in the evening.

We spent 4 nights at the Peninsula with a family of three. Upon arrival we received an upgrade from a superior room to a deluxe suite! We went for dinner in the hotel twice, once at the main restaurant and once at their traditional Thai-style place. Food and drinks were delicious, yet a bit expensive. Service was great, everybody was extraordinarily friendly.

We stayed in Grand deluxe suite. The room is as good as it gets. The view from the room is fantastic. With the peculiar W shape buidling every room has river view. The service is impeccable. The concierge was very helpful in arranging a day tour on short notice. The icing on the cake is the spa. The spa is a world in itself and all four of us did the spirit of Peninsula treatment and ended up sleeping during the treatment! The hotel also has a Jim Thompson retail outlet in the building. The food at the Thai restaurant Thiptara was excellent. Over all, a very pleasant experience!

Room Tip: Use the Suite life promotion and pay for one night and stay the second night free. (It adds upto abo...

Can't really fault the Peninsula Bangkok in any way. Perfect from start to finish from airport pick up, the room check in, the room was wonderful, food and bars were excellent. The concierge was wonderful - helped us plan sightseeing around Bangkok and had lots of recommendations.
If I'm ever in Bangkok again I will be staying at the Peninsula
