“Best hotel in bangkok”

Best price for best services. Best services. Treatment was excellent. People always smile at you. Very punctual in cleaning the room and toilets are very lean and cozy. Oh the health club is of the kind. Breakfast time you never want to leave the restaurant. The boat that connects the two sides of the river is fantastic. Driver always smiles at you.

We did enjoy our 3 ight stay in August 2012 and it was a great retreat from the hussle of Bangkok. The rooms were good, but felt a little tired. The bathroom was huge, bed comfortable, great views. We liked the free boat across the river and also felt the long tailed boat trip they organised was great value!

We had a complimentary free champagne tea which was enjoyed very much, and the breakfast choices were amazing, with a choice of eating riverside or in the aircon, though we found riverside our preference.

The pool was OK, not large but it was full of kids on a few days which spolit the peace, even though the hotel had labelled one area a quiet area, this seemed to be ignored. Pool service and concierge were great though.

I would recommmend it, but preferred my stay at the Banyon Tree a few years back which had more of a Thai feel to it and was slightly more luxurious I felt, The Penisnsula is probably better located for access to Bangkok though.

Our fourth stay at the Peninsula and it is as fabulous as ever! This hotel has it all! We had a suite this time, which was lovely and had incredible views. Every member of staff was pleasant, helpful and charming, especially the shuttle boat guys who are lovely and the chauffeur who drove us to and from the airport. The food is just the best - everything is of the highest quality from the croissants at breakfast to the ice cream in the little shop. The towels are wonderful, the pillows really comfortable and the beds are bliss after a day on your feet in Bangkok! I would move in here and never leave! I can't wait to return!

Room Tip: I doubt there are any bad rooms here, but the corner suites have several huge windows and are beauti...

Stayed here for 2 days in mid August, from Saturday the 18th to Mnoday the 20th of August, with a friend on a liesure trip of Bangkok.
The Peninsula exceeded every one of my expectations. Design and layout was perfect, tranquil, well appointed, and luxurious . The hotel employees were well trained and very helpful at every turn, from the front desk, to the bellman, concierges and wait staff. The gym/spa/pool was awesome, well equipped and made my stay better. The included breakfast had so many perfect little touches, like the fresh honeycomb with honey dripping into a bowl, the wide array of fruits and fresh breads, and the omelet station. the rooms were huge, had two seperate sinks, a seperate toilet and shower and a huge sunken tub.
Side note: I accidentally left a toiletry bag with spare contact lenses and some prescription medication in the bathroom on checkout. The Peninsula not only secured the item for me, but sent in international mail to me without hesitation so I would have it right away. truly a pleasure to stay there
prices were very reasonable for the caliber or services that we got.

Room Tip: A riverview is nice

We stayed here 3 years ago and it was superb, but on our recent visit it looks a little faded - some of the room amenities looked like they needed upgrading - blame the GFC?
The welcome was rather cold which surprised us, but anyone can have an off day. On the whole the staff members were excellent, especially in the restaurants. The room service meals are good value and well prepared and professionally served - perfect if you have little kids. The breakfast downstairs is a buffet at either venue - how about offering a-la-carte at one? While on the subject, it was impossible to get hot coffee on 3 consecutive mornings at breakfast. How hard can it be?
On the plus side, great pool, and great position.

Room Tip: Book a room with a view of the river.

For the level of service provided, this place was pretty cheap. Prices are high for Bangkok but pretty cheap compared to some other resorts we've been to. For less than 200 a night, we got two upgrades. Room with a balcony, river view. Amazing room, bathroom was one of the nicest I've ever seen. Service in the lobby, while checking in, room service, ferry service was all top notch. Pool is beautiful and the service there is also impeccable. They really make you feel special everywhere. Concierge service is very helpful and well informed.

Ferry service to the other side of the river is very helpful. It's easy to take the ferry across and then grab a tuk tuk or bus to save money. Otherwise just getting across the river on a tuk tuk or cab will take a while. This saves money and time. Bus can easily be taken to Grand Palace near Khao San from the other side. It runs till midnight so if you're a night owl, be prepared to take a cab or tuk tuk all the way to the hotel.

The Skytrain station is also across the river, the ferry drops you off right at it. Big plus to get to the glitzy empty malls or Pratunam, the sister mall next door that caters to the locals more.

Room Tip: Use the ferry to go across the river, save money on tuk tuks and cabs. #1 bus goes to Grand Palace...

3 weeks go I stayed at Mandarin Oriental, across the river, and I must say I prefered my stay over there. Breakfast experience has not been great. Lack of tables, we had to wait for 20 minutes since we requested a table for 5 at a shadow area. At the end we had to eat below a parasol, quite warm since we did not want to wait further. The food was outstanding though. An amazing variety. The rooms were good, however we requested room nearby our kids (we had 2 floors inbetween) and our kids had to take a non smoking room (they sprayed the room before) in a smoking storey. A very smelly floor...actually surprising. The answer was that we should have mentioned at the reservation we wanted a non smoking room (strange). The concierte service has been outstanding. Also the possibility we had to take a shower at the fitness room after having checked out.
