The Peninsula Hotel Bangkok is an amazing hotel. Our room was well appointed and comfortable and the service was first class. The view of the Chao Phraya River from our room was spectacular. The daily brunch was over the top fantastic with a multitude of breakfast choices plus a bounty of fresh fruit. Also, the hotel arranged for a wonderful guide by the name of “Boom” for two day trips including the Chatuchak outdoor market, royal palace, temples and floating market. The spa was also wonderful. I would highly recommend this hotel and will stay there the next time I visit Bangkok.

We used the PI as our base for our 5 month Asia trip, returning there every 10 days or so between trips to surrounding countries. we stayed at the hotel for over 6 weeks in total. We stayed mostly in the same rooms, occupying a suite on the 32nd floor most of the time.
We started to consider the hotel our Thai home after a while. We knew the hotel from previous visits in past years .The rooms are very luxurious, the bathrooms with his and hers corners are pink marble with great shower and bath with TV. Bed linnens invite you to fall asleep and the views are second to none.
The service and personnel excel in making guests feel at home and display fabulous Thai hospitality. The grounds are impeccable and the pool is a great place to read in the traditional cabanas, have lunch and watch the busy river.
We ate daily at diferent restaurants, including room service and many time saw very little raeson to eat out. The buffets for lunch and dinner are refined, star culinary quality by executive chef Mike Wehrle and his 70 plus team in the kitchens.
We were everyday pleasantly surprised by the high level of staff attentiveness and kindness. The PI is our time tested most favourite hotel in Bangkok.
One critical note is that during periods of lower occupancy, promotions attract many peple from Asia and Australia. This puts a heavy burden on the staff to serve all during the breakfast "rush hour" which can be very busy in spite of alternative breakfast places made available like the lobby lounge. In addition not all of the guest , seemed to us would normally stay in a place like this and can be noisy and walk around in sleeveless t Shirts, shorts . They do not do justice to the elegance and chic of the PI group. It is a risk to the image that must be carefully guarded.
Overall, our experience over the course of 5 months and even years before is outstanding.

Room Tip: The rooms above the 15th floor or so have the best views of Bangkok. Choose a balcony room if you like to watch the river activity

Stayed here back in June 2011 as the first leg of our honeymoon and The Peninsula did not disappoint. This is by far the best city hotel we've ever been to.
We upgraded to a one bedroom suite which was well worth the money. As it was our honeymoon we received a lovely bottle of bubbly, some chocolates and a fruit basket and the suite was immaculate. All of the amenities you would expect which made our stay one to remember.
The food was fresh and of a high quality, this included breakfast as well as room service.
We had the most amazing time and although we did a lot of sight seeing we couldn't wait to return back to the suite and make ourselves feel at home.
As we were quite busy we didn't have time to visit the pool but it looked lovely.
The shuttle boat was a quick a pleasurable experience and we never had long to wait to get to the other side of the river.
I only wish we were able to stay longer! We would return to this hotel in a heartbeat, a magnificent stay.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a suite for that extra bit of luxury.

Best price for best services. Best services. Treatment was excellent. People always smile at you. Very punctual in cleaning the room and toilets are very lean and cozy. Oh the health club is of the kind. Breakfast time you never want to leave the restaurant. The boat that connects the two sides of the river is fantastic. Driver always smiles at you.

We did enjoy our 3 ight stay in August 2012 and it was a great retreat from the hussle of Bangkok. The rooms were good, but felt a little tired. The bathroom was huge, bed comfortable, great views. We liked the free boat across the river and also felt the long tailed boat trip they organised was great value!

We had a complimentary free champagne tea which was enjoyed very much, and the breakfast choices were amazing, with a choice of eating riverside or in the aircon, though we found riverside our preference.

The pool was OK, not large but it was full of kids on a few days which spolit the peace, even though the hotel had labelled one area a quiet area, this seemed to be ignored. Pool service and concierge were great though.

I would recommmend it, but preferred my stay at the Banyon Tree a few years back which had more of a Thai feel to it and was slightly more luxurious I felt, The Penisnsula is probably better located for access to Bangkok though.
