Wonderful 5star luxury hotel just in front of the river Chao Praya. Everything in Bangkok easily accessible by the river taxis and the sky train just opposite the hotel. Nice elegant rooms, magnificent view and great pool. Very reasonable prices.

I had the privilege to stay at the Peninsula Bangkok. An outstanding experience, as you would expect in a Peninsula managed property. Wonderful premises, great Breakfast and F&B, very well appointed and comfortable room (I actually enjoyed a nice corner suite). I love the VIP amenities in the form of sweet candies (Pates de Fruit in French)(see my pictures). Very original, and extremely enjoyable. Great bathroom and super comfortable bed and bedsheets. The hotel is located on the river, and offers its own boat shuttle across the river and other locations as well.

I stayed here with my partner after staying at the Shangri-la across the river. We arrived by boat and booked in for one night. We received a gift of dried fruits from the receptionist. We received a complimentary afternoon tea in the lobby as part of the package. This was amazing, and was accompanied by a live band. Very nice indeed.

The room was very comfortable and overlooked the river on the 27th floor. There was fresh fruit awaiting us. All very luxurious.

The pool area was quiet with a section away from any screaming kids. That is always a pet hate of mine to have to endure them nearby! The boys around the pool we're lovely, offering us cold water, fresh fruit and little ice creams periodically. We ordered lunch there. The service was very good. One small thing was that the free wifi kept drifting in and out around the pool area and was filtered, although that wasn't so much of a problem.

The clientele were much better here than at the Shangri-la, perhaps because it was more expensive at this hotel. There was a posh wedding going on, which meant we couldn't use the top floor restaurant but a card was left in our room to explain that. It didn't matter as we went out in Bangkok using the Peninsula's private boat service to cross the river. One tiny issue to be aware is that the last boat home is at midnight, which slightly curtailed our evening.

Very much enjoyed the Peninsula. The service was what you would expect in this kind of hotel and the room was immaculate, fresh and up-to-date.

We stayed here at the suggestion of a friend and could not have been happier. We were in a Grand Deluxe room which was spacious and well appointed. All amenities are high quality and the beds very comfortable. The rooms were quiet and we had a lovely view of the river.
A nice touch is the loose leaf tea in the rooms…wonderful in the morning along with the tropical fruit selections that are refreshed daily.
The staff was attentive and accommodating and everyone was top rate.
A perfect hotel stay.
The spa is EXCEPTIONAL!

Room Tip: All rooms are lovely. Ask for a higher floor and a view of the river to fully experience the beauty...

Bangkok is a bustling city filled with great hotels, HOWEVER- NONE are better than the Peninsula. The perfect mix of old world charm and modern amenities, this big city hotel leaves you feeling like youre the only guest there. We highly recommend this hotel to any travelers of Bangkok!

Room Tip: Get a river front room!

This was our first hotel during our honeymoon and we loved every part of it.

The location was great just on the river. The hotel ferry was very efficient and prompt taking us across the river whenever we needed to. There is a sky train metro station conveniently located right across the river. The food was excellent, the breakfast buffet had everything u can imagine (in retrospect, it turned out to be the best breakfast buffet of all the hotels we stayed in during our honeymoon).

The staff were beyond helpful professional and courteous. The concierge was also excellent !! Rooms were clean and comfortable. Amneties were great. We really loved every aspect of our stay.

Some of the comments on here say that the hotel furniture is outdated, we disagree and found it very charming and had character.

Room Tip: Get a higher level room with a river view.
