If you're looking for a break from the madness of Bangkok, The Peninsula is it.

The pool area's resort-feel will make you forget you're in the heart of the city, aside from the surrounding view. They have cute boats to take you across to the train station or water taxi to explore. Spa is a MUST, a beautiful labyrinth of a place and a plethora of treatment options. Excellent service and while the hotel is large, it does feel personal. Great views on the upper floors.

If you are lucky enough to stay during Christmas they put up elaborate decorations including a giant tree that makes the entire place smell like the holidays. Peninsula is worth every dime.

Stayed there from December 25 until December 28, 2013.

A perfect service does not only start from the moment you arrive, but already well beforehand. Take me, who considers herself a crazy "plan-aheader", who started to send an email off three weeks before to The Peninsula Bangkok, in order to have babysitting service for our 21 month old toddler girl and SPA treatments for my husband and myself organized.

Considering the fact of Bangkok being six hours ahead and I wrote that email at 6 p.m. in the evening CET, the answer came back within two hours, copying housekeeping and SPA staff in it!!!
Wow! Me, being a critical traveler of many years! I was impressed.

Pick-up by The Peninsula Bangkok from the airport was perfectly organized and we got to the hotel in no time. Been lucky as well that we had no traffic jam.
We have been warmly welcomed by The Peninsula staff upon arrival att he hotel and felt immediately at home.

We stayed on the 35th floor at the Grand Deluxe Suite with breath-taking views up and down the Chao Praya River. Our toddler girl was totally fascinated and sat at the windows for hours gazing downwards the passing boats on the river.
The Suite was very comfortable and very quiet. You only could hear from very far away the buzzing from the wonderful metropole Bangkok...

The evening we arrived, we had SPA treatments and our toddler girl had her babysitter. We felt like in paradise, cooling down from a crazily, busy year...

I loved the the breakfast buffet, which offered really everything. I enjoyed as well very much my meals at the River Cafe and Terrace with very attentive and friendly staff.

The entire The Peninsula staff made us feel very special, even though it is quite large hotel, but they somehow can manage quite well, to provide services on a very personal level.

Wonderful Peninsula Bangkok, I'm yours again the next time I'm touching down in the great city of Bangkok!

We have stayed so many times in this hotel, it remains our favorite. It is large but manages to retain a very personal feeling in the services it offers to you. A big thank you to the hotel manager and the front desk manager who took so good care of us. We were treated like returning guests returning home and that is what we like. We spent 8 days enjoying all the hotel has to offer. Albeit minus the pool which was quite cold due to an unusual cold spell in the Thailand area. It was similar everywhere in the country during this Christmas/New Year season.
We observed as the decoration for the festive season was been changed on a daily basis within the hotel. It felt new every day. Hats of to the team in charge of that. Another person to thank is our maid on floor 33 who was so quick in reacting to our demands. Finally the staff at the airport who welcomed us on arrival and escorted us at our departure until after check-in (use hotel limos for that) Great breakfast and no queues thanks to all hotel outlets being open and serving the same breakfast. We enjoyed the peaceful Thai setting of the Tipthara restaurant in the morning a good alternative to the rather noisy River Café. We had great cocktails at the bar on the river, enjoyed the thai craft market on the lawn and watched some of the fabulous Christmas dinner show. Looking forward to our next stay at the Peninsula Bangkok

Room Tip: Higher floor. Every floor has 2 suites go for that if you can. Wow room and wow views

I just love everything about this hotel, hence the revisit.
The staff can't do enough and are ever so polite. Breakfast outside at the side of the chao phraor river is a lovely start to the day!

Luxurious rooms with lovely Egyptian cotton sheets and pillows.

If you want relaxation, no mither, no loud music playing wherever you go. Then this will be perfect for you

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room then you an sit and watch the views and action on the river! So peaceful no n...

I keep returning to this hotel whenever I visit Bangkok. Though the room furnishing is a bit dated but it is the service and the coziness that keep drawing me back. The food at every outlet is as fantastic as before and the whole place is still perfect. A bit disappointed was with the spa. Don't get me wrong, it is still good but not so outstanding as before.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your kind feedback.

I am pleased to announce that the hotel has started a soft refurbishment programme for our guest rooms. We will update them with a fresh new look including newly designed carpets, executive work desks, window treatments and artworks. I am sorry to hear that our spa did not meet your expectations during your visit. We would certainly welcome any opportunity to learn more about how we could improve our services and would greatly appreciate any feedback you could provide us.

We stayed at The Peninsula over Christmas and had a great experience. The hotel was very cozy and nicely decorated. They offered several options/dinners to celebrate Christmas, including an entertainment program. The hotel is very nice and charming, and the location and view are unbeatable. The pool area is amazing - it doesn't even feel as if you are in such a big city!!! The breakfast has a great selection and nice setting.
The food was very good (we only didn't eat at the chinese restaurant).
The only minus is that the first room we were brought to seemed to be unused for quite some time (it had a strange smell) and it was a bit dirty. After complaining, they immediately changed us to another room and everything was fine.
