Just got back, stayed 3 nights at the Peninsula. These was my 4th stay at the property, still my favorite in Bangkok. Service is the best, breakfast superb, comfy bed, can't fault anything! Quick check in and out, maid even helped me with my bags all the way to front desk! Will be back soon hopefully.

Room Tip: Loved the balcony room!

Dear darlaf

Thank you for your comments. Having one of our Front Desk team go above and beyond their normal job, and even assisting you with your bags, is great to hear. It is this working attitude that will come naturally and we are very proud of. It is reassuring to know that that this kind of service will bring you back to The Peninsula Bangkok. We look forward to welcoming you "home" again.

The Peninsula Bangkok was splendid. It offered beautiful views. The premises were spectacular. The spa was incredible. Prices were comparable to American 4 star, so although it seems expensive in Bangkok the quality of service you receive is definitely 5 star. The food is incredible with plenty of choices for everyone. The front desk offers schedules for the trains, taxis and even tours. You get slippers, room service, a tv in your bathroom, ironing board, hairdryer..... the works. Shower and spa tub. The provide a fax in your room as well. A desk. It was so wonderful to stay here to work on a research project.

Room Tip: Get a balcony room facing the river. anywhere from the 4th floor up is a beautiful view.

We struggled for months trying to make sure we chose the best hotel in the city for our first visit to Thailand. After considering the Mandarin, the Siam, etc. we chose the Peninsula and are so happy that we did. The view has to be one of, if not the, best view in the city. We were in a Grand Deluxe Suite. Beautiful suite with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city across the river. Hotel boat transfers across the river were always available. Don't remember waiting more than 2-3 minutes. With the turmoil in the city we felt extremely safe as none of the demonstrations are happening near the Peninsula, yet if you wanted to get to where the demonstrators are, the boat can bring you to the Sky Train, and you can be in that area (downtown) within 10-15 minutes.
Breakfast was fantastic, the pool was beautiful. No regrets with this decision.

Room Tip: Ask for a rhigher oom overlooking the river to get the best view of the city.

Dear Traveleveryweek,

We are delighted to hear that you chose to stay at The Peninsula Bangkok during your first visit to Thailand. All of the things you shared in your review signify what makes this hotel special. From the floor-to-ceiling windows in all of our river view guest rooms, the complimentary Peninsula river shuttle boats to our "urban oasis" location on the river, we feel that we give our guests the best of both worlds.

We hope to welcome you back at The Peninsula Bangkok in the near future.

We stayed for just one night at the Peninsula before heading to Chiang Rai. It is a beautiful hotel with well appointed rooms, fabulous amenities and great views. The pool area is lovely with great wait staff. The breakfast buffet is fabulous, river shuttle a great service too.
The Thai riverfront restaurant is excellent for dinner, we lucked out with a fireworks show that night.
Great facilities on site and all the staff were very accommodating.

Dear Tracy,

Thank you for starting your trip in Thailand with us here at The Peninsula Bangkok. I will be sure to share your kind words and compliments regarding our guest rooms, level of service at The Pool and our wonderful riverside breakfast buffet at the River Cafe & Terrace. We are indeed fortunate to live and work in Bangkok. The fireworks display over the river is always spectacle to the eyes. We are glad that you had a chance to experience this.

We stayed at the Peninsula for the first part of our Thai vacation (3 nights in Bangkok, 3 nights in Chiang Mai, 3 nights in Krabi, 1 in Phuket). The Peninsula was amazing - gracious staff, amazing property, beautiful pool, wonderful breakfast buffet, lovely cocktails by the river in the evening, easy transport via hotel boat to the other side of the river, complimentary boat cruise down to the night market, etc. All good!

We arranged to be picked up at the BKK airport in one of the hotel's series 7 BMWs. Smooth, fast and luxurious way to arrive in the city.

We stayed in an executive suite and were very happy with the room, check-in at 6am was performed in the room.

Would highly recommend this property!

Tips on Bangkok from Feb, 2014 travel:
Use the public boats for travel up/down the river - I think the fee was 10 baht ea. Just jump on and the fare person will find you. The public pier is right across from the hotel and you can ask the hotel staff which public boat to take. We used it to go to wat po, Chinatown, etc

The sky train is easily accessible from the hotel and a breeze to use. The hotel boat will drop you off at the central pier and the sky train is right there.

We felt very safe walking around the city; no issues

Try the street food - it was awesome and so cheap.

We ate at La Normandie in the Mandarin Oriental across the river. Very pricey but worth it for a wonderful evening. Also at Nahm one evening - very spicy!!!

We saw some protestors but did not experience any major issues.

Do not take a flat fare taxi from Wat Pho to anywhere. Make sure taxis keep their meters on; they will try to turn it off. Be vigilant.

Walk, walk, walk....explore the city. People are very friendly and helpful.

Thank you for the kind words. We are delighted to hear that your vacation started so well with us. First impressions are always important to us and it seems that the BMW transportation and early service all helped.

We hope that the rest of your time in Thailand was just as enjoyable. We look forward to welcoming you back for your next Asian getaway.

We liked this hotel very much. We had a balcony room on about the 22nd floor, overlooking the river and an amazing view of the skyline. The room styling may have been a bit dated, but the room was luxurious, extremely clean, had lots of space for luggage, and featured a generously sized bathroom. Excellent service and food. Pool area is attractive but not that large. Well-located for the sky train and central neighborhoods. It's an extremely comfortable and relaxing oasis in a hot and chaotic (but very exciting) city. Would happily stay here again.

Room Tip: In February, it was often too hot and windy to spend much time on the balcony, but it still was grea...

Stayed at the Peninsula for five days in December and found the service impeccable. Two of the days we were there the protests were scheduled and the hotel provided written notices letting the guests know what was going on. It allowed us to adjust our plans accordingly.

Breakfast by the river every morning was wonderful. Being able to take the hotel boat to the sky train made getting around very convenient.

Looking forward to coming back.

Dear JoAnn,

Thank you for spending the festive season with us last December. It was gratifying to hear that our daily notices helped you plan your activities while you were in Bangkok. As you mentioned, we believe that our location offers the best of both worlds: a tranquil oasis beside the river away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, but is only a short distance away to the city via our Peninsula river boats.

We are also looking forward to welcoming you back at The Peninsula Bangkok in the near future.
