This is a great hotel with outstanding service. The staff anticipates your needs and can help you with your travel planning, making it a great place to land when you come to Thailand. The location is a short walk (15 minutes) to Silom Street, the Skytrain and Lumpini park. The rooms are silent - you don't hear your neighbors, their TV's or room doors slamming. The beds are comfortable. The AC has a myriad of settings to satisfy the most finicky of guests. I arrived at 2am and ordered room service that was delivered promptly. Best deals on rates are through agoda, rather than going directly through the hotel for some reason. The pool area is small and shaded until about noon (when I was there in January)...it seems most suitable for taking a dip or swimming a few laps, not necessarily sunning all day on the deck sipping cocktails.

We had a truly wonderful experience here at the Banyan Tree. The room . staff and breakfast were marvellous. We had drinks at the moon Bar and dinner at roof top vertigo. It was beautiful. We had the 7 course dinner with wine and each course was as good as the last. Whenever we go back to Thailand we will of course go no where else in Bangkok than the Banyan Tree.Check out the weekend Market at Chatuchak really worth a visit .Also we would like to mention 2 members of staff Ran the duty manager who looked after us a true professional and waitress Jane in the moon bar and Vertigo restaurant both excellent members of such a wonderful team.

Room Tip: Go for the club room or like us the Junior Suite fanatastic !!!

We arrived at the Banyan Tree after a 10hour flight, a hot metro ride from the airport, and not forgetting two backpacker backpacks! Luckily staff were on hand to help, and we were greeted with a jasmine flower garland, our bags taken from us straight away (with much relief!) and a traditional Thai tea welcome drink - bliss! We were off to a great start, and needless to say, this great service continued throughout our stay.

Even when we checked in and our room wasn't quite ready for us, we were given the choice to wait or to upgrade for around £20 a day to a suite which we could move into straight away. We went for the upgrade and we're glad we did as we had a magificiant view of the city, which offered fantastic views of the city's sunrise (something we saw a few times what with jetlag!!). After sorting out our room, we were offered breakfast for free which was still taking place downstairs, which we also agreed to, and we're glad we did- what a selection of food, from noodles and rice, to your usual fry up, to pastries and sushi - you name it, they had it!

Our stay was made even more special with little gifts being left by housekeeping, from incense sticks to cup placemats. A nice little touch.

The staff were extremely attentive, with the concierge team helping us out in any way they could, from recommending tours and travel options, as well as providing a good map of the city.

Although the hotel isn't completely centrally based to the markets, China town and the river etc, (more in the business district), it's no stress, as the best way to get around the city is in a taxi or a tuk tuk, which can be easily picked up directly outside the hotel or on the main street, and even though you might have to travel a little further to get to the city's hotspots, the fares are so cheap, it doesn't cause too much inconvenience. Plus after discovering the city, knowing you are coming back to your little bit of luxury balances it all out! You can also take advantage of the hotel's Sky bar after a busy day out and about and watch the city's nightscape with a glass of something in hand!

This 4* hotel is good value for money, and if you're used to your home comforts, and nice surroundings, you certainly won't be disappointed. A little jem in the big city.

We stayed here over New Years 2012/2013 and loved every minute. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, excellent breakfast buffet, and the roof top bar has absolutely stunning views.
The staff were absolutely incredible, very helpful and accommodating.

stayed at the banyan tree bangkok for 3 nights through a luxury link package which included stay at a suite, club floor access, dinner at the Safron,30 %discount at the Banyan spa welcome cocktails etc.
i arranged pick up by limousine and was a bit surprised and annoyed that my driver was not waiting as i went to the appointed pick up spot in the airport-luckily some other hotel representatives were available and connected with the driver who arrived 10.mins later.

hotel is in a nice district close to embassies which was my prime reason for being there.
welcome and check in was well done in my suite.
tried the club lounge several times during out stay-the first night service was not great but on stating it to the Asst Manager service vastly improved the next few times we were there.
the breakfast at the lounge is excellent and the business center good.

rooms(suite)
-lighting in the room is not user friendly and the view blocked(i was staying on the 30th floor).-the bed is comfortable.remote controls for tvs in the room and sitting room didnt work and that was easily fixed.
-service in general at this hotel is hit and miss(i talked to the management about this and identified what my misgivings were).

restaurants
safron-a very bad imitation of thai cuisine- i talked to the management again about the quality of food and they said this was fusion-but to me a good tom yam is a good tom yam fusion or not!at the rates guest were being charged it better have been.
service at the pation outside the safron for drinks is average and no explanations were given why my dinner could not be served there although the tables were laid out.
vertigo-had dinner here the 2nd night.the hotel head chef had talked to us about the quality of food at safron which he head from our comments to the management and promised us a meal to remember.it was just the opposite.from under cooked foe gras to a leathery steak the vertigo surprised me in the negative sense.the waiter who served me asked rather too personal questions-spilled champagne while serving, kept telling us certain items were complementary and even the timing of service was off-when told a 10 mins wait was for the next dish it arrived 30 mins later. lest said about inane remarks from the service manager while serving the mysterious soup the better!this restaurant gave me,an amateur foodie "vertigo" pardon the pun.

spa-magnificent setting-great facials and my colleague had an excellent massage therapist while i had a so so one.spa food good.pool is small but nice ambiance..

now there is one stand out during my stay-it was Nruebol Kongrut the Asst Front office Manager-Ning for short. She truly epitomizes service quality and customer delight-she took all the comments i had and made instant changes some so remarkable it was visible instantly-others would take longer like the restaurants. But she deserves all the credit for the service recovery during my stay and staying focused in delivering even delighting the customer.

All i can say is "what if"...this can be a truly great property like the Lebua towers if all their staff took customer satisfaction on board.....

Great stay at The Banyan Tree - the service was excellent, and the rooms were spacious and clean. Location is great for nights out in Patpong, The hotel staff gave us free early check-in, along with an upgrade to a Club room. Would definitely stay again!

Only downside with this hotel is the location. Although cabs are available at the hotel entrance, Bangkok has horrible traffic and the location can be a problem. Great hotel and service though. Rooftop bar is a brilliant.
