“Fantastic Business Hotel”
Reviewed 1 February 2009

Everytime I go to Bangkok for business I'm always booked at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit and I really love staying there. The hotel connects right to the Asok station of the BTS which makes it extremely accessible. The facilities like the lobby, restaurants, gym and poolside are superb. I especially like the poolside BBQ and Basil restaurants, and the breakfast buffets are one of the best I've had. The rooms are always immaculate. The service is excellent, they seem to anticipate all your needs and respond quickly to requests. Highly recommended for business or leisure!

This was the final hotel we stayed in over a 2 week period. We stayed in the Executive Club rooms for 2 nights. The room was brilliant with a very good bed. The free internet access with the room was great at the end of the holiday to check on finances and family at home. The views from our room were lovely when the smog lifted long enough to see the lake and the city.
The bathroom with seperate bath was brilliant, very clean and with all the facilities required for a very enjoyable stay.
The location of the hotel was brilliant with a short walk to the skytrain or the underground to get you around town very easily with out the need to be stuck in the madness of the traffic.
Customer service was amazing with doormen appearing from no where to open doors or press lift buttons for you. The Breakfast was a great buffet with many choices to choose from.
Everything about this hotel for business or pleasure is superb.

I stayed for 3 nights at the Sheraton Grande and was impressed by the class of the hotel in a desirable location in Bangkok. As well as all the usual amenities, the hotel has a great breakfast bar next to the pool, a good jazz club and provides talcum powder along with other bathroom delights. My room had a great view overlooking a lake to the South, and the staff were friendly and hardworking. I would definitely recommend this to someone visiting Bangkok for the first time, as I was.

In the middle of a hellish, dirty, crowded Southeast Asian city is the quiet elegance of the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit. The interior and hotel rooms are very nice and spacious, and the service is excellent. Breakfast is fantastic with a wide range of top quality foods. Saying the Sheraton Grande is a quiet oasis is a vast understatement given the mayhem right outside the door. I was not overly impressed with the caliber and range of sights in Bangkok; it's interesting for a day or two but that's about it. To stay at a place like the Sheraton Grande for under $150US per day is impressive and I would highly recommend to anyone traveling to Bangkok.

An absolutely fantastic experience! Great personnel, fab room, amazing outdoors pool. Probably the best overall hotel stay experience I ever had. The breakfast buffet was spectacular and the live jazz in the evening very pleasant.

Hotel is located in Sukhumvit, near a lot of good tourist stuff, upscale shopping, a mass transit stop, and in the heart of a business district. It's a skyrise with a decent unheated pool that likely gets crowded in hot weather (not a whole lot of seating). Hot tub is not hot. Has a real gym with a too-helpful staff that will take your "go away" clues. Service is so over the top but at the same time unobtrusive. Maybe the best service hotel I've ever been in.

Points whores: (SPG PLAT): Benefits are over the top: upgrades, free breakfast (anywhere/anything), no lounge but free internet, constant fruit replacement in your room, your choice of newspaper (they brought us the Washiington Post every day, I dont know how). The SPG benefits were awesome.

Room is not, nothing overwhelming, a little dated design but extremely clean and well cared for. Average sized. Good bed, lot's of pillows. Rooms are serviced promptly.

I only ate at the Sala for breakfast. I think it's around $20 for continental buffet, which is very good - muesli, fruit, rolls, coffee, juice, salmon, meat, cheese, etc. A good value if not just a so-so bargain in such a cheap town. Recommended.

They have a spa but why anyone would pay hotel prices in Bangkok is beyond me. Go to Baan Dalah on Soi 8 (3 minute walk) for a mid-priced (20 bucks an hour) awesome, nonsexual massage or any other spa treatment. Or do a google search. The spa is prob excellent but just not necessary.

The concierge is really good, will warn you if he thinks you're underdressed, etc, will also make thoughtful recommendations based on what you say -- be frank about what you want. Example- we wanted real local, not fancy, close, cheap soup and he sent us around the corner to a total dive that was exceptional. I got the sense it's where he goes for lunch. Also recommended a fancy place, warned us that a certain sky bar restaurant sucked, and gave us the real info on all kinds of topics. I normally dont use concierges that much but theirs are so good I recommend using them.

Overall, this is not a "hip" hotel -- it's old school, what your mother would think of as nice. It's also not really near the cool nightclubs etc (Sli Lom). But it's really comfortable, really nice, and has great service. Highly recommended.

This is a great hotel. The room was fabulous and the staff were always incredibly polite and helpful. The pool is an unexpected joy and oasis of calm and the close proximity of the Skytrain made getting around easy. We were there for 6 days and found buying a smartpass for the Skytrain was an easy way of hoping on and off this very modern, quick and efficient method of transport without having to find change to buy tickets each time.

We had dinner a couple of times in Basil - the food was wonderful and I think their Margaritas are the best I have every tasted - highly recommended.
