“Grand Hotel”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

Stayed here for 5 nights and it is very nice!
We got breakfast on one morning but for the two of us it was 2200 baht, which is (in our mind) rather extravagant for a buffet breakfast. Sure the range was superb, as was the quality, but to pay around AUD$73.00 for two people is way too much... I can't each that much to make it justifiable..... in Asia at least!

The remaining mornings, we just grabbed a coffee and croissant at the local Starbucks, which was a more cost appropriate way to spend our time and money.

The Grand King room was well appointed, comfortable, clean and quiet, which are things that we need.

The hotel was connected through a covered walkway to the BTS Skytrain, which made access to anywhere pretty easy and very cheap. It is essentially in the middle of the cities shopping district, but no more than 10 minutes in any of 4 directions on the BTS and your in all the best 'inner areas' anyway.

We contacted them a week out to confirm the booking and to request a 'non-smoking' room, they replied that they would 'try' but could not promise, luckily we got a non-smoking room and floor. This was good as stopping in the elevator on a smoking floor almost caused us to gag, we would have been VERY upset if we were on that floor, and this review would have gone completely the other direction.

The staff (as is usual the case with Thai's) were polite and ever helpful. They offered and provided a late checkout for 2PM at no extra charge (depends on demand) which was very appreciated as we weren't flying until midnight.

That being said, if we ever go back to Bangkok, we would stay in a different location as others seemed to be even better.

Room Tip: 9th floor up was quite at least!

We were originally booked in a suite for our one night stay before heading back to hong kong and then onward home to California. All we were told is that we were upgraded and followed the front desk attendant to the 5th floor. I was thinking to myself "with 20 floors we're not getting that great of an upgrade" Then we proceeded past the spa and outside past the pool and there were about 6 poolside bungalows. We came in the entryway and our jaws dropped at the sheer beauty of the place. We did an in room check in and then explored the place. It has its own massage table where you can have in room treatments. An ipod stereo with an ipod included that was loaded with relaxing music. double sink and full size fridge. The bathroom had a separate tub and shower and then a table that you can get scrub treatments on. The shower had a steam room in it. The toilet had a bidet that had a heated seat and blow dry features and all sorts of nozzles for him or her. The master bedroom was huge and had plenty of pillows and outlets. The outdoor patio had table and sun chairs. The main entry way had a full couch and sunlight and really nice décor. It was raining when we went up for drinks and canapés in the lounge on the 18th floor so we took the huge umbrellas waiting by the front door. The lounge was great and had some warm snacks and cold snacks, beer champagne and a nice selection of liquor. Its in a great area of town across from a mall so if you need to shop its right there. When I'm back in Bangkok, we will stay here for sure. We typically stay at starwood properties a majority of the time but there was a night and day difference between the le meridian where we stayed 5 nights and this property.

Room Tip: Pool bungalow if you can!

This hotel always makes you feel at home from the time your are greeted by the bell captain. The club lounge is excellent. All the staff are extremely polite and helpful. No task is ever to difficult for them to fulfill. They will set up a free meeting room for business which is very convenient. The restaurants serve fabulous food at reasonable prices and will even make items for you that are no longer on the menu. Of course the location is the best being walking distance to major shopping malls. Overall well done to all the staff on maintaining consistently high standards across the board.

Room Tip: Grand club room is definitely worthwhile.

Very good hyatt.....its not a new building but i believe this add the the charm of the hotel.

The good:
1. Location is perfect, right at the center of all the shopping....between siam paragon, central world and embassy and all the other bangkok shopping centre. You just need walk in the sky bridge dont even need taxi anywhere.

2. Room are large and spacious, and very good value for money especially if you are a platinum or diamond member.

3. Best breakfast, they got a very good healthy choice, better then most hyatt.....also try their tea room restaurant its in the next building as where couse very good reataurant.

4. Lastly the front desk and concierge are one of the best in i have encounter even compared to other hyatt and park hyatt i stayed.

Stayed 1 night, but will defiantly be back for more soon.

If you come expecting a Hyatt, be prepared. It is better.
The location is excelent... close to metro station and the two largest malls in Bangkok. If you are not afraid of walking, you can visit the major touristic places by foot. The breakfast is excellent, but I would also recommend some of the street options close to Phoen Chit.

Room Tip: Ask for the higher floors facing West to enjoy a beautiful view, the amazing sunset and the Royal Sp...

Received a warm welcome when I checked in to this hotel. Room is clean and nice design. I'm having good sleep every night. House keeping is well done.

Although breakfast is same everyday but I enjoyed very much. Just few minutes to central world shopping mall, platinum mall and Big C.
