I had stayed here before some 5 months ago and they upgraded me to a deluxe room last time. We had a long flight and arrived at airport at 6am.We booked a standard room and was really thankful and glad that they gave us a room at 9am eventhough no free upgrade this time :p

Its near to the Ratchaprarop station which was really convenient. Of course you cant expect too much out of this 10 or 20 years old hotel. A little troublesome that we had to change lift to get to the breakfast floor but doesnt really bother us too much. Rooms were clean, big and spacious.

Will return to stay again because of its convenience to airport rail and shopping. I also think its time for them to do re-furbishing of the hotel.

Room tip: Ask for non smoking rooms.

Dear Valued Guest,

Warm greetings from Baiyoke Sky Hotel! It’s been a long time since your last visit in Bangkok. We hope you’re safe and healthy during these uncertain and unprecedented times we are experiencing now all over the world. We would like to inform you that currently, the Thai Government has still kept their severe follow up with the pandemic and we all hope that the ongoing spread all over the world will soon be recovered.

We hope to see you back again very soon when things start to return to normal.

Wishing you best of health and we remain.

This was very short visit to the hotel and I was quite unpleasantly surprised with the tacky interior of the hotel. Everything looks old. If you need to go from the floor to the floor (let's say for the dinner), you need to ask for assistance instantly as there is no clear paths and elevators go to certain floors only, then you have to change.
Crowds of people going back and forth to the roof and back (for the view of Bangkok) and this also adds to the uncomfortable experience.
While it may be nice sightseeing experience this is definitely bad experience as the hotel.

We stayed for 3 night at the end of August 2011. Although no complaints with room itself, other aspects of the hotel leave alot to be desired for the price.
Firstly check in was not a problem, all went smoothly. The room was a basic hotel room with nothing speacial apart from a fantastic view (we were only in the standard zone too!!).
The staff were ok, nothing great but not bad either.
Problem 1: To get to breakfast which is on the upper levels (great views while you eat), we had to descend in elevator to 18th floor lobby area, then change elevator to go upto breakfast, the reverse this to return. Not so bad except the there are so many people waiting to use the elevators (upto 30 -40 at times), that you had to wait at times upto between 5 and 10mins to even get on!!!
Problem 2: Breakfast has a pretty good selection, but it is just so busy you can feel like a sardine waiting to eat, and sometimes even finding a table can be a chore.
Problem 3: Again with the volume of people, getting an elevator from the lobby to ground and vice versa can be a long wait.
So overall, although a pleasant enough hotel, the sheer volume of people (even at 10pm) waiting to use the elevators is a big turn off for us. As for value for money, there are better places around for the same room rates eg Amari Watergate internet rates through this site, still in the same area of Bangkok. would we stay again....no

Room tip: Standard Zone room still have a great view of Bangkok.

Overall is acceptable for all the shopping in the vicinity, but it would have been better if it is not carpeted. Near to transit station, within walking distance, to head to the airport. There are always personnels to manage the queue to the lift. Very helpful reception at the counters.

Good hotel in a very busy location, we had serious trouble with the traffic jam, never imagined that a taxi would stand still for 30 minutes in a city traffic light.

Rooms were nice, spacious. But working out the room keys in the lift was a challenge at times. Breakfast had wide range of selections and tasty. However being the tallest building/hotel in Thailand they should have had few more tables to accommodate more guests at any given point of time.

Nice friendly staffs, a refreshing change after our opposite experience in Duangjitt Resort, Phuket. Chek-in & Check-out was smooth.

My personal favorite point for this hotel is the 24 hours Family Mart in the Lobby. Though it was small, but very helpful for us, specially as we had few children to attend to.

Room tip: Stay on the wing which is part of the breakfast floor. Else you will have to change & climb up/down the lift too many times.
