I stopped in this hotel on my way home to Uk from Thailand must say this is the worst hotel i stayed in on my holiday to Thailand ,i upgraded my room which was scruffy air con very poor, having to wait and queue up for lifts,Would recommend stopping in a five star for the price difference over all the hotel is like a cattle market .

Room Tip: book in a 5 star for a few extra pounds.

We got upgraded to a Suite on the 32nd floor. Room had long corridor, huge bathroom, dining area, lounge and then a separate room for the bedroom. Again the room was huge.

View was immaculate and couldn't fault this place at all. Room service is decently priced but the market downstairs you can get street food for less than $2 for a full meal. Well worth the journey.

Air Con unit was a bit loud but other than that no problems. Excellent hotel and will go again.

Room Tip: 32nd Floor Suite.

We were in a group of friends with families, having returned from a great beach resort in Pattaya. The locality of the Baiyoke was our first shock. It is a business-type hotel in the middle of a market place dominated by Indian establishments. You get-off the car on the kerbside, walk through a mini bazaar to the elevators, go up to the 18th floor and then check-in. The check-in itself was quick and painless, quite efficient actually. The rooms were a surprise. We had family suites (superior) and they seemed to be mini apartments with a large living room, reasonable bed room, walk-in closet and bath room. The finishing was 3-starish as were the towels and amenities. There is a flea market on the road outside in the evenings for fake and inexpensive goods. Had one meal at the Coffee shop and regretted it. The breakfast on the 82nd floor is reasonable but make sure you get there at least 15 minutes before finishing time. The servers will start removing the buffet even as you try to fill you plate.

The main shopping malls are close, about 100 Baht on the Tuk-tuk but the overall experience is truly more business than vacation. I guess the price of the rooms should have warned us.

Room Tip: Not sure the high floors are worth the extra money. The view is not phenomenal.

Believing all the hype, me and my partner booked to stay here and had a room on the 39th floor. The location of the hotel is good, 5 minutes’ walk from a train station that connects to the airport, and near some of the biggest shopping malls in Bangkok as well as a variety of street markets.

If you just need a base to sleep then its ok, but it seemed like they wanted to charge for everything like wifi which you would expect to be free in a hotel this size. Don’t bother with the spa, you can get the same treatments for a fraction of the price elsewhere. We were also disappointed with the sky bar. The decor was extremely dated, and the prices for drinks were ridiculous.

If money is no object then stay here, but if you are a budget traveller, or on a tight budget, then do shop around!

Booked into this hotel on many occasions and never had a problem.booked in on 20th April with my 2 daughters one 14 and the other 10 years.breakfast was included for two adults and I was informed that I would have to pay for child.no problem how much for child 250 baht...went to breakfast and I was asked to pay 380 baht for my 10 year didn't argue at this point. Went to the front desk after breakfast asked how much for child and I was told 250 baht showed her receipt of the charge..after about 5 minutes she came back and told me shes tall that's why charged adult price.my daughter is 132cm....if you advertise children free or children 250 baht should apply to that....also I think the baiyoke is getting a little out dated as we were also scratching in our room after 6 times staying in this hotel think its time for a change

The tallest or one of the tallest hotel in Bangkok! You'll get a great view of the hotel surroundings. The open-air rotating roof/ observatory is quite fun, with cool refreshing air. It's just one level up the hotel buffet place. But buffet is so-so despite the excellent view. Non hotel guests will need to pay to go up to the rooftop observatory. There are some souvenir stamp chops available and you can send a postcard with a stamp chop there too.

Walking distance to Platinum mall. Some small shops/ bazaars/ street snack vendors located right next to the hotel too. It gets quite lively at night.

Clean nice rooms, with bathtub. We got a free upgrade to a bigger room too as we travelled during the red shirts riots. Could see the red shirts people camping on the streets from our hotel room haha.
