“Good Hotel but very rude bell boy and unresponsible duty manager”
Reviewed 27 November 2013

We've checked in at Baiyoke Sky Hotel to stay about 7-10 days for our business trip.
For the pro, the room is very big, clean, well appointed and nicely decorated. The staffs from the guest relation desk are very helpful. They're always willing to help. The breakfast is a number of choice.
ီCorn; As our purpose is for shopping for our hotels, we're not very convenience with unhelpful bell boy.
During our staying, One of our supplier delivered the packing boxes at the hotel. So, we asked at the reception and we're told to go down and ask at the Ground Floor.
So, we went there and ask about it. He [the following blue uniform bell boy] replied us with very annoying face and asked us the slip of the boxes. We explained back that as the supplier delivered while we're away, we don't have the ticket and requested him to check with our room no.
Then, he replied with very rude manner by to go and ask the store ourselves. As we don't know where the luggage store is, we told him to follow with us to the store. Then, can you imagine what he did, the staff of 4* hotels, Baiyoke Sky....
He shouted us back - "go yourself and he can't do it"... We were surprise and told him we'll tell his manager and then, he laugh to us and very badly showed his name badge and told us ... "go to see any superior of the hotel and he did not care anyone..." We're very amazed with that kind of rude manner from service industry staffs.
So, we went to see the only one helpful staff of Guest relation desk and he sent us to see duty manager.
We were surprise again by the following photo of un-responsible duty manager.
He asked to tell the exact name of the bell boy because they've two staffs there (Can you believe it that he can't know one from two). As their names are difficult to remember, we said that as you just have the two staffs there, you just easily asked him but he deny that he can't do anything if we can't tell exactly. And, he might be fight from them if he does not know exactly. Can you believe it. He looks very difficult to solve for the customer satisfaction even he assigned two bell boy there, he is very afraid to ask who is the one from these two.
I feel so sad about the owner and management of Baiyoke Sky Hotel because we're also running the hotels and resorts and from the same service industry.
As we did complain him, he finally follow with us to the down stair with un patient face and let us show who is he..
Then, he just listen what he said and then, he told that his staff is not wrong and he can't do anything.
If he is from road side Inn, I'll not complain what he solved it. But, he was responsible for 4* hotel and the duty manager said that he can't do anything with his level and he'll just write the report to the management at night.
We will never come back this hotel.

After travelling around Thailand, I was really looking forward to staying here on my final night.
However, the hotel clearly is relying on the status of the building to get people through the doors and pays little attention to customer service and room standards.

There were only 2 receptionists on duty to cope with the demands of a very large hotel, and long queues of people waiting to be served. After finally checking-in and locating my room I was disgusted with the state of it. The bed sheets were dirty and the bath stained. The room was furnished no better than a roadside budget motel.

For the price paid to stay, I certainly expected more - even free internet would have been a bonus but even that cost 600THB for 24 hours.

The staff were very rude and were more interested in herding the large number of day visitors up and down the lifts to be of any help to the guests.

The only good thing were the views, which were amazing - its certainly worth going along as a day visitor and staying somewhere else.

Hotel looked good initially, foyer was nice, people helpful, seven11 in foyer. we found the room to be massive but average amenities, not modern and not old decor. View was great from 62nd floor. Very quiet at nights, air conditioner was weak but suitable. Most annoying thing for us day to day, was using, from our room, 2 elevators to get to breakfast, or 2 elevators to get to the ground level to do shopping. The other major disadvantage to this was that due to this building being a major tourist landmark was sharing these elevators with tourist along with hotel residents. one time we had to wait for 5 elevators from our floor just to get to the lobby due to japannese tourists using them to get to the sky deck. This hotel was frustrating on a day to day basis. On the other hand it had a great location, with a good walk to central world and plenty of street markets close by. No need to visit chaturak markets when you stay here.

Room Tip: Rooms looking south have excellent city views, great night photography.

Amazing view of Bangkok! Recommend going in the evening when it's dark. The never-ending city lights are just mesmerising. Drinks are fairly expensive in Bangkok's context but still not too bad. Must go!

First of all the hotel is seriously buuuusy, crowds in lobby, busy restaurant,bar,but... The view is what i pay with no hesitation . We stayed in sky zone in junior suite and the patio was just breath taking. We could literally stay stray all day next to window and watch the panoramic city.
Breakfast so so,seafood buffet no wow factory, but room very space, large bathroom, huge bed, cant complain. for the price which is a bargain i would say you can not be wrong what's on offer with Baiyoke Sky

Room Tip: don't bother with the rooms below 50th floor ;)

I was very pleased with the buffet breakfast at the top of the tower. Anyone would not have a problem waking up early which such a view and wide variety of choices. I loved the bread selection and the coconut pudding. Best part of my stay.

We had no problems with the checking in and out process. The housekeeping lady was very friendly and nice too. However, we were disappointed by the poor and old condition of everything in the room. Only the bed was a plus point. Everything else was just outdated and it didn't have a class and comfortable feeling.

The view at the top of the tower was also a disappointment. The lights were off and it felt kinda dangerous being up there. We were also disappointed at the lack of a free wifi service. I believe free wifi does set your standards as a high class 5 star hotel.

The lobby was fine but it did not have a 5 star feel once again. Nothing glamourous about our stay here. It was comfortable but not worth the money paid. Could have gotten better deals elsewhere in BKK.

when i was planning my trip to Thailand, i couldn't not try the hotel especially when i imagined my self waking up with a view from the 60th floor.. well, the view from up is OK ( not wow), u just see other buildings, some of them are already high as the hotel somehow, but even the view is not that clear, i remember i enjoyed it the first 10 mn & that was it! & u will start judging the hotel on all the other services, which are average.
the room was not that clean, too many people in the hotel so you don't feel the intimacy if you are traveling as a couple, the employees won't even recognize even if you stay more than 10 days! so they will keep asking you your room number.
the food is also average, the restaurant is on the 78th floor where you will have better view than from the rooms & no need for you to book on the upper floors ( the price of the room increase whenever you go up...).
i lived the experience maybe but won't go for the hotel again.
