“Not as good as previous trips.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 January 2010

I have stayed in the Conrad several times and always enjoyed the experience.
Perhaps due to the ongoing financial issues I found things not quite as good as before.
I particular the following issues disappointed me :
1. Charging 750 Bath per day for internet access is outrageous, especially in a business hotel.
2. I found the new barber shop in the lobby to be unhelpful and bad attitude.
3. Confusion regined when I tried to use the wireless printer.

The spa staff were excellent , as usual and I enjoyed my trip overall.
Just not sure if I will return as there are better deals in the 5 star market in Bangkok.

what a great experience! the service was meticulous and very attentive throughout, from check-in to leaving the hotel.

having arrived in bangkok on a 6am flight i was at the hotel before 8am and did not even expect for my room to be ready that early. however, upon entering the lobby, i was immediately escorted to the executive lounge, where i was offered breakfast while they arranged check-in for me.

the service at the lounge is outstanding, with a full concierge service that arranges everything from tours to onward travel etc. when coming ‘home’ after a hot day of sight-seeing it was great to be able to chill out in the lounge with afternoon tea or evening snacks before going out for dinner. the choice and quality of breakfast was excellent and were the snacks offered during the day. wireless internet access is free in the lounge and they even have some macs available if you don't have your laptop.

staff are extremely friendly and attentive - even for thai standards - in all areas of the hotel.

rooms on the executive floor are very nice, with a window to the bathroom that gives it an even more spacious and modern look. as a plus, there is an ipod docking station.

my only point would be that the restaurant cafe@2 didn’t live up to expectation - both thai dishes were of very poor quality and taste - but then again there are so many restaurants in the area that you don’t have to stay in the hotel for dinner.

overall highly recommended!

I stayed at the Conrad BKK for 9 days on a business trip. Couldn't be more pleased- from fast check-in to check-out, everything was simply excellent. As a hhonors diamond member, I chose the free internet rather than the exec level upgrade because the internet fee was quite steep at 750 baht/day.
Great view of BKK from the room, fresh fruit and bottled water replenished daily. The bed was amazing and the pilows sublime! The bathroom had a separate tub and shower with a rain shower head as well as a hand-held shower head. Very nice and ample bath amenities. Turndown service in the evening was great, the staff replenished the coffee, water and fruit.
Did not get an opportunity to dine at the hotel, so I can't comment on that. But the service was impeccable. I checked out for 1 night in the middle of the trip to work upcountry and the hotel stored my luggage for me free of charge.
Overall, an excellent hotel experience.

Stayed here while on business. If I had picked the hotel, I would have wanted to stay at the Four Seasons, but my colleagues chose the Conrad. After staying there, I would come back if I ever visit Bangkok again. It was a wonderful stay. The room was fantastic with a nice sitting area, comfortable bed, updated furniture and decorations that gave a feeling of warmth and relaxation. There was fresh fruit and bottled water (tap non-potable) each day. The bathroom included a standing shower and free-standing tub. The staff was very friendly, polite, and helpful. The restaurant was nice and the food that I had was delicious. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Back in October, we took a mad, but fun three-and-a-half day trip to the wonderful city of Bangkok. What a fabulous place to be: great people, great sights, great food, great energies. I highly recommend a visit, whether as part of a tour of South East Asia or just a one-stop vacation in itself.

We chose to stay at the Conrad, which is next to the embassy district, so in the posh part of town. We opted for an executive floor room and we were not disappointed. Despite the 12 hour flight from London and in need of a shower, we were welcomed very nicely on the ground floor and immediately whisked up the executive lounge in order to be checked in. "Sawadee krup" (hello!) were offered and drinks poured while the staff called up our reservation and got our room prepared.

The room was beautiful. Great views of the surrounding areas and great amenities, including the nice elephant toys and rubber duck with the Conrad branding that you are free to take home with you as souvenirs. Once we'd popped the iPod on and unpacked our clothes, we headed back to the lounge, just in time for drinks and appetizers. Again, service was very attentive - very efficient, yet not too over-bearing, and always with a lovely smile - and there was always a dizzy array of food and drink on offer. Breakfast each day was a real treat, too.

The hotel is just walking distance to the skytrain and you can get pretty much anywhere on that. Also, the subway is just 10 minutes walk away, past the US and Japan embassies. The swimming pool and spa area is lovely, too. We sat by the pool, sipping cocktails, not wanting our little jaunt to Bangkok to end.

One great tip for a great Thai dining experience. Go to Baan Khanitha for great food, wonderful service and a wine menu that rivals any Western version. The staff in the lounge at the hotel sorted us out with dinner reservations in just a few minutes.

Writing this review of the hotel makes me want to get on the next flight back to Bangkok and stay at this wonderful establishment. If you are ever headed to Thailand, make sure you head off to the Conrad and indulge yourself in the wonderful Thai hospitality.

The hotel was great. The room was quite spacious and the food was great. Its location was also a big plus with the MTR station nearby. There were plenty of options to choose different types of cuisine.
