Hi

I stayed at the Grand President with my boyfriend from the 1st to the 7th of Feb. We stayed in the Junior Suite in Tower 1, looking over the pool, which had everything we needed in the room. The room was very clean and big. Bed was comfy! The location is brilliant! We were a 2 min walk to Nana station, and surrounded by brilliant restaurants and bars on Soi 11. We didn't actually eat anything at this hotels restaurants, as we were surrounded by too many amazing ones!
Everything ran smoothly at the Grand President, check - in and check - out was efficient. Staff spoke reasonable English. Breakfast was good, but I've had better at different hotels. The hotel is clean and stylish enough. Reception organizes taxis/tuk tuks for you. Pool is good for a few swims.
You get above and beyond what you actually pay for at the Grand President. It's excellent value for your money, and it's all you really need when in Bangkok. The AC works VERY well, and the relief you feel when you walk into the hotel/room is amazing!
My boyfriend and I were out of the hotel most of the day, which most tourists are, and the Grand President is perfect for you if you only come back to the hotel to sleep & eat breakfast. You'll save heaps of money for staying in a reasonably stylish hotel. If you are just coming to Bangkok to laze around the hotel the whole time, choose elsewhere.

If I ever return to Bangkok, I'll be staying at the Grand President.

For the last 7 yrs, I've been coming to Thailand and always stay at the GP Hotel in BKK. The staff is great and would accommodate your requests. My last experience 2014, the bathrooms didn't have enough towels and the water ran from cold to hot, then, to cold again. But, the experience with a Taxi driver parked outside the hotel, (Mr. Chai, taxi #S-3281, ID #126573, cell #086-030-5185) was not good. I found out he would help me negotiate the price with club management and it was inflated so he would get a "finders fee". Since, Mr. Chai is always parked at GP Hotel, I will not use this hotel again on my next visit to BKK.

Room Tip: I would not use Taxi's parked outside hotel.

Dear Sir
We appreciate that you have taken the time to write a comment on Tripadvisor relating to your stay at Grand President. It was great to hear that you have been a loyal customer for seven years. We are obviously concerned about your comment on the Taxi issue and guarantee you that we will investigate at once. Taxi's remain a constant issue and are very challenging to solve. All Management staff would have been here to help out on this matter and we can in the future support you in your transportation needs. Please accept our sincere apologies.
We hope to get another chance in the future and look forward to welcome you back.

For an extremely competitive room rate (standard room) you get a clean spacious room with all facilities you may need. Very decent breakfast buffet with somewhat changing selection every day. Location could not be much better with Nana skytrain station within easy walking distance. I have yet to find a hotel in Bangkok that beats the value I got here. Clean pool (actually 3 pools) and friendly staff. Not a luxury place, not necessarily a room with a great view, but if you want a nice room at a good location that does not cost you an arm and a leg, go for this place! Of course free wifi is provided as well.

Room Tip: Cheapest rooms appear to be on the lower floors of building 3. They do not have a view but they are...

I stayed at this hotel for three nights on 23Jan2014-26Jan2014 and I am really glad we booked it due to the nice comments they had on TripAdvisor. We booked a Deluxe Suite and requested a late check-in as our flight arrived in Bangkok late at night. Once we arrived, we checked-in without problems and the staff at the reception were always really attentive and kind to us, helping us all the way with our routes/questions on their maps.

Our room was a Deluxe Suite located at the Tower 2 building, connected right to the reception, and the room was amazing. It was like a flat, really. A spacious double room and a bathroom with two doors - you could either go in through the bedroom or through the living room. The living room was also very spacious - at least for two people - with an ensuite kitchen with everything you need to cook. However, food in Thailand is so cheap and tasty that I wouldn't really recommend that you waste time cooking in your rooms. The room was very cozy and I would definitely pay more money to get this type of room in this building if the difference is not that much.

The breakfast was the best part. High quality and I would definitely pay for it again. There's even a cook who prepares omelettes and other stuff before your eyes and everything was really tasty. Highly recommended.

The location of the hotel is really convenient considering Bangkok is a huge city, so you're always far away from something and you definitely can't walk the city if you want to check out all areas. It's really close to two different Skytrain stations - Nana station and Asok station - and it's well connected to all parts of the city except for the Wat Pho and the river area, where always a Skytrain ride and a taxi boat are needed. Not sure if because of the demonstrations in the city or not, but taxi drivers didn't want to drive us to Wat Pho from the hotel and they always tried to find a way to drive us to another place instead, which we rejected. The combination Skytrain+Taxi Boat are good for the Wat Pho area, and taxis WITH TAXIMETER are great for the rest of the city, very cheap. Around the hotel you have lots of places to eat and the V terrace or some other clubs to dance the night away.

To sum up, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bangkok. It is not the cheapest option but it is amazing quality for the price you pay. A bargain in Bangkok!

Room Tip: I defintely recommend to pay more for a Deluxe Suite in high floors (Tower 3 building), especially i...

I stayed in the hotel last year and the greatest thing about the hotel is the location. Is in the middle of Sukhumvit Soi Road. The staff in the hotel are very nice and helpful. The bedroom was simple but very comfortable (apart from the a "strong smell" in our bathroom - coming from the drain). The breakfast was good and the hotel is very close to the Metro station.

Room Tip: They are divided in two towers. Choose the new one!!!!!

To give a context, I am a 70 yo retired professional person, I was in Bangkok to visit an ex-army colleague, and do some tourism. I did not therefore want aback packers' hostel nor a luxury hotel to spend my time in.
This hotel was clean, the rooms well appointed and furnished, spacious and air conditioned. Breakfast (an extra) was cheap and good. Staff were polite and efficient. Laundry service was prompt. There was a swimming pool on the roof of each tower.
It gave me everything I needed an wanted. I wonder what those who report adversely were looking for.
All the normal tourist trips can be booked in the reception - usually to sites on a modular basis.
You can walk to the Metro, to shops bars, restaurants.
My report is based on being given what I needed.
I paid £340 for 6 nights, and 2 one day excursions

We are a family of 5. Young adults aged 16, 18 and 21 and us..We booked through booking.com. We booked 3 rooms as the 3 bedroom apartments were unavailable at time of booking. At check in we were told that their was cancellation and the 3 bedroom apartment was available.. Fantastic!! We took the apartment. Staff were extremely helpful. Our apartment had a fantastic balcony and could see the beautiful lights of Bangkok at night. We were in Tower 3 and the pool and accommodation was 10/10. Breakfast was great. Could not fault anything about staying here - we wished we had decided to stay on a few days longer. Outside at night were great street vendors selling beautiful food. We never ate at a restaurant. The kebab man was YUM YUM..Also we ate most nights at the Noodle man. You will know who he is as the line tells you it is good food. Starbucks is just down the road. Location to train station 3 minute walk and central to everything. A fantastic place to stay..
