This hotel is situated in the shopping area Silom near to the famous Patpong nightmarket. Nice and clean hotel but nothing special. Small room. Internet charge is ridiculous high. Frontdesk staff is polite and helpfull. They charge 875 baht for late check out.

Had heard about this hotel from a friend who is a regular visitor to Bangkok. The usual accolades: Great location; friendly staff; comfortable rooms; reasonable rates, etc. etc. Yes, the location is good, but don't try walking from the BTS station with luggage as the street (Soi Convent) is crowded with sidewalk eateries that make movement almost impossible. The staff might be friendly, but they take ages to check you in, with masses of paperwork still required in this day of computers, plus their comprehension of English is a BIG problem! The rooms are nice and spacious with timber floors that look clean as opposed to the grimy stained carpets in some hotel rooms. Bathrooms are very dated, but functional. Biggest problem is sound-proofing. On my first visit, I had a room on the right hand side of the corridor overlooking a courtyard in which are located massive air conditioning intakes that emit a vibrating hum that is all-pervading 24/7. On my second visit, I requested a room on the left hand side of the corridor, which was better, but which overlooked a lane way with noisy vehicular traffic. Noise from the corridor and slamming doors were a problem with both rooms. The breakfast buffet is just OK and eggs are cooked to order. However, for some reason, butter or margarine is non-existent and, after several requests, a plate with two tiny swirls of butter appeared. However, the self-serve coffee is excellent. English is also a problem in the restaurant. I didn't take the wifi option in the room, but used the business centre for 10 minutes to perform an online check-in and for which I was charged 210 baht! Hate to think what they charge for wifi. To summarise, if you can get a good deal on a room rate, don't hesitate to stay here, but if you'e looking for something a little more special, try elsewhere.

Room Tip: Stay in a room on the left hand side of the corridor leading away from the elevators to avoid the no...

I have stayed here 3 times, the location on Soi Convent in Silom is great, the rooms are small , though bright & great shower room. The restaurant staff are good, but the front office staff are a bit in different although there is a great smiley lady who works in the early evening, The location keeps me coming back here.

We chose this hotel for the location to both MRT and BTS as we travelled in from the airport on the train.10 min walk from Silom MTR and 5 mins Sala Dueng BTS so easy to get around the city. Silom Road,is Patpong so near enough for all the action and market. Hotel is very quiet though. Rooms large , very clean and well appointed if a little tired but everything in you need. Lovely breakfast, piping hot food, eggs etc all cooked fresh to order. Small pool on 5th floor, seemed OK but we didn't use it. 7/11 right next door and lots of street food and restaurants around .If you want an alternative to the prices of the main chains with ease of transportation around you then this little place fits the bill. We travel as a couple 61 & 56 so OK for older traveller!

The famous hotel around is Dusit Thani but if you're on a budget, this is a decent hotel just around the corner

This hotel is conveniently located around the soi and there is a lot of local eateries around the area. Also amenities are located beside so you are never short of essentials.

Breakfast is simple but as mentioned, there is a lot of local dishes to savour if you're in the mood.

The train station is also nearby should you need to travel and there is a few neighbourhood type malls in this area

For those into the nightlife, walking distance to the famous Patpong red-light. Enjoy!

The Swiss Lodge is a mixed bag. One one hand, the rooms are decent if you want a place to lay your head. The room was clean and comfortable with most of the needed amenities. The location is also centrally located in the Silom district of Bangkok. There is a thriving night life close-by complete with the delicate and devilish that Bangkok is known for. I will say that wi-fi is NOT included in the price of the room and an outrageous charge is placed for a day of internet use (half the price of the room). Another fault of the Swiss Lodge is the miscommunication of the staff. I was told by the manager and assistant manager two tales of check out times as well as amenities which made me feel like I was serving the hotel as opposed to being a customer/client. In fact, the female day manager was nearly rude to me (however the rest of the staff were more than polite). Over all, the Swiss Lodge is simply an affordable hotel room. If you plan on spending your day out in Bangkok, all is well. If you actually care about comfort and style, give this place a miss.
