Close to shopping malls and train station. Good selection for breakfast even for vegetarians like myself. Went for our wedding anniversary where hotel gave bouquet of red roses to my wife. very much impressed. Hotel seems to have two wings. We were in old wing and rooms seemed slight below par. Not sure how the rooms were in new or the other wing. Swimming pool has some tiles coming off. Helpful staff

Room Tip: Suggest you ask for room in new wing. Old wing has separate hot and cold taps in bathroom.

We were greeted by the friendly staff for our first stop in Thailand. We were given al hr relevant information for this fabulous hotel, and went to our room. This was spacious and clean. Air con was great! We had our bags brought up to the room.
The hotel was easy walking distance of Phaya Thai train station where we caught the train from the airport.
There is a 7 eleven a few doors down. Drinks available from the fridge in the room if you want to pay for them.
Staff arranged taxis for us to get where we wanted to go, about 20 minutes to khao san road (depending on traffic)
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
We didn’t look around all the hotel as only stayed 2 nights but when we return to Bangkok we will be staying here again as great value for money in a lovely hotel.

Room Tip: quiet, lovely hotel

My daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights at end of January this year.We liked the facilities and service. The bad things were the very hard bed.We asked for 2 beds but were given a king size to share.Could hardly sleep due to the table hard bed and too soft pillows. Glad we flew on to Phuket for 7 nights. Also room smelt smoky and only 1 point to charge our phones. The view was great and the room itself on 20th floor was quiet.2 out of 5 rating.

Dear Rosemarie W,

thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience.
Unfortunately we did not meet your expectations and I would like to apologize for this.
We have in general very little complaints about our mattresses and I am not sure if you addressed your discomfort with our Front Office or Housekeeping staff.
We provide additional bed toppers for all guests on request to make bedding softer, since sleeping preferences vary. The same is possible for the pillows, which will be changed on request. I will instruct our Front Office Team to ensure guests are properly informed of the bedding modifications possible at teh point of check in, so a request can be made if necessary.
In addition we are currently adding more charging facilities to the rooms to increase convenience for the modern traveler.

I am at least glad to hear that you enjoyed the view from the rooms and had a quiet stay.

Since the hard bed is easily fixable with our additional bed toppers, I do hope you will give us another chance and enjoy a comfortable stay with us in the future.

Best regards,

The Sukosol hotel is very nice, elegant but very affordable. The room was clean and very spacious even with the extra bed. The International breakfast buffet provided a good selection to choose from, and you could order omelette. The Hotel is well situated 5 min easy walk from the Airport Train & BTS station Phaya Thai. Being so close to BTS it makes getting around Bangkok very quick and easy. We avoided using taxi’s and tuk tuk’s as they often got stuck in heavy traffic.

We found the staff to be very helpful, above and beyond. We had pre-arranged (privately through a Thai friend in Bangkok) a driver for 3 days to take us to Kanchanaburi. We arrived in the lobby at 6am, waited 1 hour but our driver never turned up. The hotel tried calling him repeatedly as we and our friend did. It was suggested by reception that we speak to the concierge about how we could get to Kanchanaburi now. Going by bus wouldn’t take us to the places we wanted to go, so we asked where we could find a new driver. He made a phone call and found us a replacement driver that was at the hotel within 15min and the concierge negotiated the price which we found to be very reasonable. He was a fantastic driver. He spoke reasonably good English and we both used Google translator for the rest. We couldn’t have been happier with this arrangement, thank you so much for finding him for us.

Eating at the hotel we found to be expensive and options outside the hotel are limited but left along Phayathai Road (walk, tuk tuk or train) to the area around Ratchathewi BTS there are nice affordable eating places.

Dear Debra B,

thank you for your great review.

I am happy to hear that our concierges could help you out and make your trip a successful and pleasant experience.
Regarding our location, I always recommend to use the mono rail public transportation system. It gets you around inner city Bangkok without any hassles and delay.

We look forward to welcoming you back to The Sukosol.
