Good hotel located in a street off the busy Sukhumvit road. Location is its best feature: a short walk to the metro/skytrain station, close to a few malls; there's a convenience store right across the hotel (open 7AM to 2AM) and several restaurants adjacent to the hotel. ATM at the entrance of the hotel and one at the park plaza next door. Taxis are readily available either right at the hotel's entrance or across the street.
Rembrandt is a large hotel with everything you'd expect. The decor is a tad dated (90s) but clean and comfortable. At the time of booking I'd asked for a room with an accessible bath, for my mother and aunt, but they were assigned to a standard room. Required a trip to the front desk to get it sorted out. The lady at the front desk handled it promptly. The bathrooms are clean and spacious; towels are clean and acceptable but not the softest.
The breakfast buffet was average for a hotel of this size. Coffee was good and the spread includes Chinese, Thai, Indian and Continental fare. Live noodle and egg counter. The breads and pastries were a bit dry and stale. We did not try the other restaurants in the hotel - Indian, Italian and Mexican as we wanted authentic Thai food: there are several options around the hotel including street vendors. Don't miss the little Thai restaurant next door "P. Kitchen".
Room service was slow. We called for cutlery which took almost 40 min to deliver with 3 reminders. The same delay during checkout.
The tour operator, in the lobby, takes bookings for day trips and other shows. Be warned that he might pressurise you in to signing up immediately by saying there saying the seats are filling uo or that he isn't going to be around for the next couple of days. Asian Trails might cost a little more but the trips are good and well organised.
Overall a good comfortable stay.
