Reviewed 1 February 2014 via mobile

Stayed 3 nights in January 2014. Easy check in, big comfortable room, fantastic breakfast, convenient location, option of down time by the roof top swimming pool- this hotel has it all. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bangkok.

My husband and I spent three nights in this hotel for our first visit to Thailand. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had promised to visit a friend and the staff readily translated our English directions so that the taxi driver would understand them. Nothing was too much trouble. We stayed during the protests but the inconvenience was minimal - a diversion to the airport for our onward stay in Thailand. We would recommend this hotel and will certainly use it again when we next visit Thailand.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views of the city

We stayed 7 nights and it was fantastic. The view from the terrace is wonderful. The sun is on the terrace from 10-11 to 15-17 depending on which floor you live. Access to the lounge on the 24th floor for breakfast, pre-dinner drinks and coffee, the and other drinks all day.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with an equal number.

Stayed her for the second time and just as happy. Only complaint I have this time was that we wanted to spend time round the pool but there was not enough shade - on both days that we stayed there we had to go in as the sun was so hot and no shade to be had. The protests were taking place near by didn't affect us too much - could quite easy catch the sky train but most stops we got off at some entrances were blocked off because of the protests so you couldn't always get to where you wanted to.

Dear meinir:

Thank you so much for choosing to stay with us here at the Rembrandt Hotel during your recent trip to Bangkok and for taking the time to post your feedback. Returning to our hotel is the ultimate compliment for which we are grateful. Our hotel is in such a great location and offers an oasis from the protesting and our guests still enjoy an amazing, safe experience.

Regarding the pool, we have numerous large umbrellas for our guests to get out of the sun. We will have to provide you with one when you return and apologies if we did not offer. Thanks again.

My husband and I spent a night in this hotel when we first arrived in Thailand. The hotel staff greeted us from our taxi and took our bags to our room. Check in was very fast and the check in staff were extremely friendly.

We had travelled to Thailand for our honeymoon and on that basis the hotel upgraded our room to a premium floor with amazing views of bangkok, they even decorated our bed with fresh petals in the shape of a heart, a lovely thought.

The breakfast was lovely and there was plenty of choice!

We were concerned about the hotels location near to protest sites but we experienced no problems at all, we walked to the sky train station and travelled across the city with no problems at all.

Dear Sinead R:

Thank you so much for choosing to stay with us here at the Rembrandt Hotel during your recent trip to Bangkok and for taking the time to post your feedback. First of all, we congratulate you on your wedding and honored to have you spend it with us. We only hope that you can spend more time with us upon your return.

Regarding the current political situation in Bangkok, we are in more of a neighborhood setting and not so close to the protesting. In addition, our guests still enjoy our experience with very little disruption based on the measure we have taken. Our guests are still enjoying all that Bangkok has to offer without having to worry about their safety.

Thanks again and we look forward to your return.

This hotel is certainly not 4 star - it is a budget hotel masked as 4*. Front of desk staff ok in general but certainly left us with the feeling that asking for their help was an inconvenience. The rooms are tired and are in desperate need of upgrading - for the money there are better hotels and better locations.

We stayed here for the few days we were in Bangkok and it was excellent. Good location, accessible by Skytrain & MTS as well as a reasonable cab ride back to the airport (book through the hotel though, not from the street). Rooms were spacious and clean with good views across the city (we were 14th floor of 25). We only ate the breakfast but the buffet was excellent, so much choice & very tasty. There are a couple of other restaurants but we chose to go to the markets / other places we'd heard about (Cabbages & Condoms walking distance, Night Market 2 stops down etc). The staff were really friendly and helpful and the pool was a great way to cool off after a day seeing the sights! There are also plenty of shops nearby as well as very reasonably priced tailors and Thai massage places - all in a great spot!

Room Tip: Higher floors offer great views across the city
