“Good base for the city”
Reviewed 19 March 2014

A good city hotel with a nice atmosphere and friendly service. Clean and pleasant rooms to a western 4 star standard. All of the restaurants are good, we are Vegetarian and so eating out in town can be tricky, but both the Indian Restaurant (top floor) and the Thai were able to provide nice meals. The Indian is particularly noteworthy in providing ‘fine dining’ Indian style, albeit at western prices for a better than average Indian restaurant. We felt it was worth it.
Breakfast was particularly good but you do have to make it clear that you're coming back to your table when visiting the buffet as clearing up is done very enthusiastically.
The lobby bar staff were also very helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcome, and there was an excellent pianist and singer some evenings who deserved to be providing more than background. He was appreciated by the small audience he had though

We had a very quiet room on the 15th floor with an amazing view of the city. Worth paying a little extra for late check-out as most airlines leave around midnight. The train station is just five min walk from the hotel, a quick way to get to the river for a lunch tour.
If you get to the airport by metertaxi be sure that they talk to him, our driver tried not to use it.

Dear Liliana L:

Thank you so much for choosing to stay with us here at the Rembrandt Hotel during your recent trip to Bangkok and for taking the time to post your feedback. We are so happy to read that you enjoyed your stay and that we were able to offer you the late check out, which always depends on occupancy levels. The taxi situation here in Thailand is always a challenge, but we do our very best to ensure that you get a proper taxi and record all of the numbers as a safety precaution. Thanks again and we look forward to your return.

We stayed in bangkok and stayed at the Rembrandt and had an excellent stay, the Indian restaurant at the top of the hotel had the the most stunning veiws at night time, also very good food. The hotel itself was very accessible to local bars and restaurants. Was a lovely little bar just across the road. Staff was very polite and efficient , lovely pool.

Big clean rooms and great service. Free water in the mini bar which is great in such a warm place. The cocktails in the lobby bar were very tasty and should you not want to eat in the hotel there are several places to eat on the street in front of the hotel which were good.

We recently went to Bangkok with a group of friends to celebrate a friends wedding, and we started off in Bangkok and stayed at the Rembrandt. We have a 6 month old baby, and the hotel staff were fantastic in ensuring she had a crib set up in our room (although I had booked this when making my initial booking but they only arranged for it when we arrived).

The staff couldn't have been friendlier and each morning our baby daughter had a host of people trying to make her smile and coming to talk with her. The breakfast was definitely worth having included in the price of the hotel.

The location of the hotel is spot on and is in a close walking distance (10 minutes) to the Sky Train which can then link you to any destination around Bangkok.

We has also arranged for a hotel limousine to collect us and drop us off at the airport, and would definitely recommend this as it saves you having to worry about getting to the hotel, especially if it is your first time in Bangkok.

My only down side was that they didn't seem to have any high chairs for babies / children, so we had to feed our baby in her pram, which wasn't the end of the world but did seem strange for a hotel not to have these on hand.

Room Tip: All rooms seemed to be great no matter what floor you were on. We were on the 15th floor and it was...

We stayed her for the first three nights of our honeymoon. Hotel is in a great location. Rooms are huge with the biggest bed I've ever slept in. Staff are lovely. We ate in the three different restaurants and the where great.
Only slight niggle is that prices for drinks pool side where so expensive. There is a mini mart across the road so get your drinks there and bring them back.

I've just finished a 4 night stay at The Rembrandt. The hotel is very well located, a few minutes walk from Asok Skytrain station.
My room on the 5th floor overlooked the pool and had everything I needed including complementary water which was appreciated.
The staff were very friendly and created a relaxed atmosphere but one where anything you needed would be attended to quickly.
The pool area was lovely, plenty of sunbeds, towels provided and the water just the right temperature. A lovely place to relax after a hard day sightseeing.

I felt the charge for early check-in (1200 bahtt) was rather high but that would be my only criticism.

The service provided by Kuoni at the hotel was first class.

Dear Alchemist:

Thank you so much for choosing to stay with us here at the Rembrandt Hotel during your recent trip to Bangkok and for taking the time to post your feedback. Your charge for early check-in is due to the fact that we have to block the room the night before and cannot sell it. In addition, the charge is also set forth by your travel agent and is pretty much standard in the market. Thanks again for your comments and we hope that you will return.
