“Always great service at PP”
Reviewed 14 June 2013

My wife and I as well as 2 groups of friends stayed here recently whilst holidaying in fantastic Thailand. Our friends booked deluxe rooms and my wife and I stayed in a family suite as we had some family members staying with us. Its been about 18 months since our last stay at PP and it really is a nice place to stay...in fact I rate it higher than the Davis Hotel across the road ( check my recent review on TA ) What strikes me with PP and its sister hotel Grand President down in soi 11, are the staff , they are second to none , happy, smiling , welcoming, professional...Compass Hospitality must have an awesome in house training system and it shows in the way their employees interact with guests. We ran into a couple of housemaids there who actually remembered us from our stay at the Grand President 2 years ago..little things like that make holidays, to us anyway, standout. Anyway, our family suite was all that was promised, fully kitted out for a comfy week long stay..the only minor quibble I had was the lack of windows/view , it felt a wee bit claustrophobic at times but apart from that great value ,clean and comfortable. Our friends deluxe rooms were without complaint, room 1411 being the pick of the two...sun all day through large windows and a great view of Bangkok. Thanks PP for a good time, see you again.

Room Tip: 1411 if there are just 2 of you. High floor with views.

Locating President Park was not that easy.. Our cabbie took a while to find the place, even though it was on Sukhamvit road, a prime location in Bangkok. However, once we entered our room we were pleasantly surprised. It was a large suite with two bedrooms and a fully functional kitchen. There was an oven and washing machine too. The spacious hall was welcoming. You feel as though you have come home. The hotel has the some of the best amenities and furnishings. For instance, there was a control unit next to your bedside that controls the lights, a/c, alarm, do-not-disturb signs, and others.
For those with large family or small kids, this room is ideal. If you intend to stay indoors most of the time, you will not feel claustrophobic. With a hi-tech home theater and dvds, you can easily spend your vacation lounging on their wonderful reclining lounger.
The only minus would be the breakfast. Although not bad, it was not something to die for. The food largely consists of salads, bread, (no Danish bread) congee, and omelet. Nothing exciting about that. The gym is good, though not exceptional. The hotel staff is very warm and welcoming. The concierge is helpful. Overall, a good stay!

This was our fourth annual visit to the President Park. We have always stayed in a Deluxe Suite. The suite is spacious, had lots of storage, cook top, mid size refrigerator and a washer/dryer. The bed is comfortable. One internet connection is included with your room rate but most travellers use multiple devises, so that is an issue. The employees are the strength of this property - they are all very friendly and capable - and they remember us from year to year. The location is convenient with Carrefour, Tesco Super Centre, K-Village (restaurants and higher end boutiques) and Emporium Shopping Centre and BTS all in an easy walking distance.

President Park seems to be cutting back year after year. We notice fewer staff and a smaller selection in the breakfast buffet each year. The offering is still competitive - but not outstanding like it used to be. It seems the focus is on cutting costs rather than on building a business. I hope this changes as it seems to me that they have lost some really good people over the last year.

A couple of suggestions - there are loads of mobile phone shops at the Carrefour Super- C Centre, at Tesco and at Emporium. Mobile phone packages are inexpensive in Thailand and have data options. Rather than pay for a 2nd internet connection, get an unlocked phone and a SIM card at one of these shops.

The Tesco Express nearby does not sell beer or alcohol, but there are 7-Elevens on Soi 22 and 24 that do (but with limited hours.) There is also a small shop to your right and about 6 doors down when you come out of the main doors of the President Park. The ladies there have fridges well stocked with ice cold beer and are less expensive than 7-Eleven (and 7-Eleven is cheap.)

Also check out the Lebanese Restaurant just to the north on Soi 24. The food and service are really good.

Room Tip: The Deluxe Suite is comfortable for a long stay.

I was fortunate to select this hotel randomly and it turned out to be a very good choice. It was very good value for money. I never expected some seven star experience and it what was promised on the tin. I must mention the staff ( reception, front desk, restaurant) who are definitely worth praising . Their morale was high and it reflected very positively in how they made our stay so much better. They made adjustments and accommodated my ( reasonable) requests e.g electric plug, check in , sheets and I was definitely impressed with their promptness.
The breakfast buffet was very reasonable and they made sensible changes on the menu. I vouch for this place and wholeheartedly recommend this place to others.

We stay at President Park because it is well located when driving in and out from Pattaya, and it is cheap. However it is not a good place to stay if you like clean hotels. The last 3 times I have stayed there the shower areas have been mouldy. The hotel is rundown, and seriously needs an upgrade. The Best Western in Soi 26 is only a little more expensive and it is much more modern.
I would only stay at President Park if you book on line and pay less than 2000 baht per night. This does not include breakfast.

Room Tip: Cheaper rooms are in the Maple Tower, They are OK, but you have to cross the road. There are people...

Nice apartment. Modern furniture, comfortable bed. Breakfast choice is poor compared to other thai hotels. Hotel is far from the center and from metro stations. It was difficult to find the pool (you have to cross a bridge and pass to another building, walk through a parking lot and take the elevator...quite an adventure). We were 4 people but in our apartment there were had 2 pairs of slippers and 2 bathrobes. There wasn´t even enough toilet paper(!) and only 2 bottles of bath gel and shampoo. We had to take a flight home at midnight, so we had asked for a late checkout. So we left at 19.00 - but had to pay extra for a whole second night, and it was really expensive. On top of that, at checkout we were told that we had taken a bar of chocolate from the minibar, which simply wasn´t true! - at least they didn´t insist when we tried to explain...

We do offer a free Tuk Tuk service to BTS and shopping areas, walking distance to BTS is 10 minutes. Concerning your late checkout: until 6pm we charge half day and after that it is full day. This is standard procedure in most hotels.

If you lack any amenities in your room, please let us know and we can supply for free at any time.

Arrived a day late to my fully paid week, find out they give to someone else and now fully booked, but did put me to another hotel , but seeing I was ok with it she tells me we would normally charge you for this. Hello, very rude with a smile. You gave my room away. My main problem is I only stayed here because i use the extensive gym & sauna facility's, but last 3 trips its all been closed for any silly reasons, sorry for the convenience. But when complained she tell me we not use those facility's now. Thanks for telling us prior. Never again just read all the read al the other complaints you should get the picture. No loyalty to existing customers.

Our gym has never been closed and we do not have a sauna. If you refer to the Club facilities at the condo operation, this is beyond our control and is not associated with the hotel operation.
You might want to address your feedback there directly.
