Tucked down a lovely quiet lane and perched on the banks of the river, you'll find the Shangri La. Notwithstanding the impeccible service, present at all Shangri La's there's just this hard-to -put- your finger-on quality that separates the Shangri La from other 5 star hotels in Bangkok.
You will love the river taxis and the very short walk to Taksin Sky Train which makes getting around Bangkok a breeze.
The complimentary river shuttles to various points is an added value feature and is a lovely way to spend a few hours in the evening.
The rooms are beautifully appointed and the interiors have exquisite wooden details and features. I just love how the sun pours in the rooms and how you can sit on your window box gazing out at the fabulous city. I do recommend you request a river view.
Another helpful hint is if you wish to stay on the Horizon Floor (which is indeed very worth the extra money) it is less expensive to request the upgrade at the hotel rather than book the Horizon Floor in advance. I was pleasantly surprised when I inquired about the cost of an upgrade.
This Shangri La is quieter than most and almost has a boutique feel to it. You won't be disappointed with any aspect of your stay at the Bangkok Shangri La.More
