Magnificent hotel - ideal location on the Chao Phraya River near Silom. Attentive staff - excellent service. CHI spa is simply wonderful although not easy to find - the hotel is huge, but a joy to explore. Bliss. Will be back!

Pros: Good location, nice river views, good food, spacious rooms, comfortable bed and pillows, reliable and free wi-fi internet.
Cons: Rude check-in staff and arrogant concierge. Cleanliness could be improved. Staff hardly speak any English. At Next2 restaurant, I have seen staff spraying cleaning agent on surfaces WITH the food still on it, so if your food is particularly fragrant, it's not always the lemongrass.

The hotel and service was great, but the breakfast stole the show. Anything you could want, Western or Asian, great choice of teas - filled you up so that you only needed a snack at lunchtime. Good location close to a pier and skytrain station. Pool a little cold for my liking but that wasn't helped by the fact that it was cooler than normal while we were there, especially in the evenings.

Room Tip: River view is worth it.

We had our 7th visit here on 2nd & 3rd March and once again, we were in paradise!!! I love this hotel, not only for the opulence but also as it's so easy to get around with the Skytrain and the river buses so close. We were with my daughter and her fiance and celebrating my husband's 60th birthday on the 2nd and when we returned to the lobby lounge later on, he ordered a 007 cocktail, when I told our hostess that 'Mr Bond' was having a special birthday. Ten minutes later he was serenaded with 'Happy Birthday' by 6-7 staff who turned up with a piece of chocolate cake with a candle and written in chocolate sauce - 'Mr Bond - wishing you a happy Birth Day'!!!! It was so touching that they took the trouble to make it a special time for us all and I cannot thank the staff enough for this. Please can the management convey my appreciation to them.

From the moment we were picked up in a Mercedes car and offered refreshing towels and water we felt like privileged guests. Check in was completed in our room and baggage was delivered promptly. The room was an older style but very comfortable, great bed and pillows .Bathroom was large with a large spa bath that looked out over city and river. We booked a river view balcony room for three days which was a perfect choice. The buffet breakfast was of very high quality and again the service cant be faulted. Great to sit on the river terrace at the end of the day for dinner or a cocktail and watch the river traffic. Booked a half day private tour to floating markets through the hotel which was excellent with very informative guide and well worth the cost. Overall a perfect choice for us close to Sky train and river transport to all of the major tourist locations .Great value for the price and the level of service provided and food quality. Would certainly recommend this and will stay on our next visit to Bangkok

Room Tip: Worth getting a river view room with or without a balcony
