I stayed with my wife at the Krungthep Wing from 28th March to 1st April. We had a wonderful time, the room was beautifly decorated with a balcony facing the river with stunning views. The staff were friendly and realy attentive at the reception and at the Riverside Lounge. Sky train station is withen a very short walk from the hotel and the boat sevice was very useful.

That is really the only way I can think of to describe this hotel. I have been to Bangkok a few times now and still love it, I always stop by the Shangri-La for drinks, diner or lunch and finally this time; for a 3-nights stay. We ended our 3 weeks Christmas-holidays here and had been travelling around Thailand for a bit, we had such a great time that I was wondering how the Shangri-La could add to this. What an addition to our memories this turned out to be! Loved it from the first minute and it is hard to mention a down-side, there just wasn't any! The location is just perfect, river-view, two steps from the skytrain, really great shops down the street(s) and even at walking distance from PatPong where it's really fun at night. We asked for a high floor and the view was beautiful, especially at night- if you can- book a room with river-view, it is so worth it! The pool area is great, large but with many cosy 'corners', lots of comfortable sunbeds with towels and the pool-guys are great, very helpfull. (order a club sandwich, some wine and enjoy!) Even though the room was rather small it felt very luxurious, I love this type of interior decorating; fusion Asian-European. There is a great vibe everywhere you walk in and outside the hotel. If you like working out, this is the place to be, best gym in Bangkok! You can take the Shangri-La ferry/boat to visit some hot spots. You can have diner in one of the gorgeous restaurants, I really loved Salathip near the river and the buffet in the main restarant is really worth a try; compliments for the chefs, you can have a taste of many small perfect dishes here! I really can go on and on, there is only one thing left for me I guess; visit Shangri-La Bangkok again as soon as possible;-)

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor and if possible, book or ask for a room with a river view.

A truly "The King and I experience" I felt like the Queen staying at this hotel. My husband and I stayed in the Krungthep section of the hotel and truly loved it. The staff in the breakfast area were truly attentive especially. The staff throughtout the hotel were all wonderful and went above and beyond to serve.
The evening cocktails and canapes were also good with a good choice of different food, and good drinks choice - a really good deal and well worth the cost. I would definately stay there again and recommend it to others, I can't wait for my next visit!
My special thanks to all the staff and special thanks to Henry and to M, and also to Gamonitha, who we met briefly but took the time to show us round the hotel, and the waiter by the pool who returned my fan after I had misplaced it by the pool. A truly remarkable hotel, if you have made Bangkok your destination then Shangri La is the place to stay.

Room Tip: Great view from room facing the river.

So much less expensive to enjoy luxury in Bangkok. The Shangri-La is very beautiful and taking your breakfast outside by the river is a great way to start your day. Great location with easy walking access to Sky Train for the best way to get around town. Service, as always is impeccable and the room had great views and was quite lovely. There is even a free water taxi service to key locations on the river. I will definitely be back to this hotel soon.

Room Tip: Go for the river view side for sure!
