We stayed here last year and the hotel was just magnificent!
Dont be fooled by the entrance though cause it looks like it's ghetto but once you get there, the royal treatment starts! The room rate comes with a buffet breakfast that is just divine!! Worth every penny spent!

We stayed here in April for 3 nights at the start of our Thailand visit.

We strayed in the Krungthrep - you get many benefits by staying in this wing such as free alcoholic drinks including cocktails from 5.30 to 7.30 in the evening (but there is a dress code of smart casual so not shorts of flip flops of vest tops), free soft drinks around the pool and the mini bar, 2 garments each to be pressed. Afternoon tea.

We also had one free evening meal which was in the main hotel and it was a Buffett. This was the only thing I felt was not up to standard. The food was cool and the restaurant was like a cafe.

Our room and balcony overlooked the river and you will not need plug adapters here. The room was always kept clean and they do a turn down service you have an iron, tea and coffee and free soft drinks.

Breakfast was lovely and pleasantly served.
The pool area although small was very very nice! Pool staff excellent.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would return for another wonderful stay. Thank you.

Room Tip: Book Krungthrep wing

This is my third stay at the Shangri-La in Bangkok: first in 1998, again in 2011 and most recently at the end of March. This continues to be one of my favorite places to stay in Asia, and the best place to stay in Bangkok--I've stayed in a number of places here. The hotel staff is always warm and friendly, the pool inviting and the food superb. I have yet to come across a breakfast buffet as extensive and tasty as this one. Great location, easy to skytrain or water taxi wherever you need to go. Rooms are clean and spacious. One minor suggestion: time to tune-up the treadmills in the gym or go for new ones. I'm an avid runner and appreciate a treadmill that doesn't slip or make excessive noise.

You will not be disappointed!

Room Tip: River view of course!

We stayed at the Shangri-La Bangkok for 3 nights in early April. We had never stayed before and it was recommended by Trailfinders. We were not disappointed. We had a Deluxe River View room on floor 20. Beautiful view and we could not fault the room. The bed was THE BEST I have ever slept in, HUGE and with the pillows its was like sleeping on a cloud. Breakfast was excellent, I have never seen so much choice and service was generally excellent too, although it was a bit slow on 2 days of the 3 but that did not ditract from an excellent stay. Location cant be bettered, so close to the Sky Train and River Boat terminals. We only ate snacks at the hotel as generally went out for dinner but they were excellent too. Staff were just superb. First class hotel.

Room Tip: River View is a must for spectacular river/city views.

This was our 3rd visit to Bangkok and first to Shangri La and we were not disappointed with our choice. Excellent location on the river and near the Skytrain.
We paid for the upgrade to a balcony in the Krungthep Wing and it was worth the extra cost. The room and view were amazing.
It was a delight to sit and enjoy the lovely canapés and drinks at Happy Hour. Henry, Chris and Amp ensured we were well looked after.
A special thanks to Nancy who was very helpful.
We cannot wait to go back and would not even consider another hotel in Bangkok!! Can well recommend.

My first stay in Bangkok was made extra special by this Hotel. I travelled with my parents and twin sister we had two Horizon Club Rooms on a high floor. Arrived early morning no problems with early check-in the rooms were ready straight away. Room interior décor was delightful, Thai themed which was a nice touch with plenty of space all in all very comfortable size. Lovely view at night of the river from the large window. Bathroom also nice and spacious plenty of room to walk around unlike some hotel bathrooms that are crammed into a minuscule area.

Breakfast buffet was wonderful so much choice and food was of a really high standard. Manager was very professional and bent over backwards for us when we had an issue with the waffles one day!

Reception area has been designed well, very open with a spacious layout the flowers are frequently changed and always look perfect.

Horizon club is definitely a must when staying at this hotel. As a vegetarian the staff would make me any sandwich that I wanted during afternoon tea as well as creating non alcoholic cocktails for me in the evening. All staff that we dealt with in this hotel were fabulous and nothing is too much trouble.

Gym was good lots of high quality equipment just needs to have better A/C.

Pool area is an Oasis in Bangkok loved it so much I cannot wait to come here again!

Room Tip: Horizon Club Rooms are definitely worth the upgrade.

My husband and I and our two children (aged 10 & 12) stayed in room 2310, an executive suite of 70 m2 for 9 nights. On our arrival the suite was perfectly prepared with beds for both our kids and even a little toy teddy bear for our daughter, which made a huge impression on her. The room was with a breathtaking view of the river and was tastefully furnished with high quality furnishings and fittings. The bathroom was to die for, so large and light and with every possible amenity, even a TV that could be viewed from the bath. The Horizon Lounge (we used it for breakfast/coffees and evening drinks), was absolutely wonderful with warm and attentive service and excellent food & drinks provided. Overall I warmly recommend this hotel for families. The location, food and services was just perfect. My family and I will be back, my kids loved being pampered and at the center of things.
Everything was perfect!
Thanks Shangri-La Bangkok and your wonderful staff.
