Dear Aisha A,

Thank you for sharing your candid experience regarding your recent stay with us.

We are sorry to hear of your recent negative experience. It seems that our food and beverage services and standard has fallen short of your expectations. Our breakfast buffet features many stations including; Asian style breakfast - Hot station for congee or noodle, Japanese and Indian style breakfast, egg station with pancake or waffle and other condiments, vegetarian station, pastry and dessert station as well as cereal and juice station. We would be grateful if you could give us pointers on how we could further improve our breakfast stations. Please do not hesitate to contact me at ed.brea@shangri-la.com.

Sincerely,
J. Edward Brea

Gorgeous rooms!
Got upgraded to VIP so when we arrived to our rooms, we found a giant complimentary fruit basket and three jugs of fresh assorted fruit juices! Not to mention that the view from our room was great!

The atmosphere at the hotel was great, staff were friendly, the place was very clean, the outdoor swimming pool was lovely, would definitely come back!

We stayed for 3 nights as part of our 10th wedding anniversary holidays.
I have stayed at many 5* hotels over many years all over the world and I can honestly say this hotel is one of the best I have stayed at.
The level of customer service and genuinely friendly interaction from all members of staff was heartwarming to my wife, daughter and I.
We booked premier room but I'm sure we were upgraded to a suite as the room was more like an apartment than a normal hotel room.
Beautifully furnished with local artwork, separate bathroom, large sitting room, massive bedroom with the most comfortable super king bed we have ever slept in.
We dined the first night at the Next2 international buffet, the range of foods was excellent with most being freshly cooked to order, or cooked of en in small portions to ensure freshness. Highly recommended and look out for the Bangkok riverside dining card which offers 20% discount against food and drink.
We made use of the Horizon Club Lounge many times and once again this did not disappoint. Offering peaceful good and drink on the 24th floor with beautiful views of the river.
Overall impression was excellent and felt special without any snob factor like two near by hotels.

I stayed here for x3 nights and was blown away by the hotel that is an oasis amongst the chaos of Bangkok.
The location is great very close to everything that you need to be close to and the sky train is around the corner.
I would happily recommend anyone to come and stay here.

Room Tip: higher level river side room

We had never stayed at a Shangri La but opted to since it was on the river. What a pleasant surprise. They certainly gave us their undivided attention. The staff must have had excellent customer service training. During our check in, a male guest rudely interrupted our clerk. She very calmly said "I am currently helping a customer and will be with you shortly." How professional is that. Then again at breakfast the next morning as we were asked for our room number, another man and woman proceeded to butt in, and the hostess very calmly said,"I will be with you shortly," and continued to show us to our table. The concierge was able to book our tour for the next morning, even when we checked in at 9:15pm. They have a fabulous breakfast buffet and also have a complimentary long boat ride. The Shangri La was centrally located for shopping. There was a excellent restaurant across and down the street called Mazzaro and a little farther is the Sky Bar for a fantastic view of the city. Be sure to check the Sky Bar dress code. The rooms are very nice with fresh fruit and they had a dressing table with a plug and a mirror; perfect! Also, when you take a taxi to the airport, they give you a card with the taxi license plate and company should you forget or lose something. They have thought of it all. We will return to this hotel and other Shangri La's! Thank you for making Bangkok special for us.

Room Tip: Corner room gave us a view of the river and the sunrise.

We stayed here for 1 night in August 2014. When we arrived our bags were taken to our room and the lady on the check in desk was lovely. It was our honeymoon and they delivered us a couple of gifts to our room which was great. The price we paid in Thailand terms is expensive (around 6000 baht) but in UK Pounds (just over £100) the hotel is a bargain we think.

The good points;
Service from everyone in the hotel was excellent
Room was large and although we only had a standard deluxe room, the view was great.
Bathroom was very big with excellent facilities including speakers for the TV
The pool was a nice feature of the hotel where pool towels were provided and there were ample sunbeds to choose from.
We were also given complementary breakfast, which was a self service. There was a wide range of food choices to suit every pallet which was served in a modern and relaxing restaurant.

Bad points;
Really struggle to find any bad points but if we were being picky the hotel is situated just off an alley which is not the best place...but please don't let this put you off as it isn't an issue.

We loved our stay and we're disappointed to only have spent the 1 night.

PS, we had dinner at cafe Mozu in Lebua which was amazing and definitely recommend to eat there. Fabulous views of Bangkok can be enjoyed at the sky bar lounge right at the top!

We stayed at the Shangri-la in May, four nights prior to traveling to koh Samui. Chosen because of its location and rating, and because quite simply it looked perfect. It was, without doubt,without question. We travelled from the airport in one of the hotel limousines, and our luxury started there. We were greeted by staff from the Krungthrep Wing and swiftly transported into an oasis of cool, calm and eastern exotic surroundings. Staff were immaculate and polite, the hotel was understatedly extravagant and spotless. We stayed in a large suite, which was traditional in decor, but not out of place for the hotel. The grounds were manicured, the pool clean, contemporary and well staffed. We dined at their flagship restaurant, Salathip and as expected, we were not disappointed. As guests of the Krungthrep wing, we were invited to share cocktails and hors d'oeuvres early evening....a selection of delightful goodies and branded wines, champagnes and cocktails were in abundance. We used the gym facilities every day, which were modern, clean and affording a great view of the Chaophraya whilst pounding the treadmill. We hired a private boat from the jetty, arranged of course by the concierge, from which we toured the waterways of the city. The Shangri-la is a beautiful hotel. Staff are unassuming and polite, the hotel is luxurious without being ostentatious. Our stay was magical and were made to feel truly valued and truly, truly pampered. Oh yes, we did the couples massage at their spa also....I don't know where to begin, so I won't even start.....but you can imagine what I would sat....!! Thank you to all the staff at this hotel for making our stay memorable.
