Finishing our trip in this hotel was a bit of a let down. The room was adequate, but a bit dirty. The wi-fi seemed to be dial-up speed only. Everywhere seemed to be a bit battered and bruised, probably due to the fact that G Adventures seem to run all of their tours in and out of here. Everyone is either excited or miserable depending on the point of their tour and staff seem to be on edge and suspicious of their guests all the time. Breakfast was OK, but the dining room is not big enough at peak times.
Wouldn't recommend for more than one night and I'm sure most hotels in Bangkok are better, we just didn't have the choice.

We stayed here for 1 night with the G-Adventures tour group before leaving for Cambodia the next day. Bedroom was clean and beautifully presented, beds were comfortable, aircon was cool and quiet. Bathroom was a little old, shower luke warm (and a couple of tiny cockroaches scuttling around). Free bottled water but no tea and coffee facilities. I thought the price (2,300 baht on their website at the time) was a little steep for what you get, but I guess it's about right for a 3 star hotel. It was too pricey for us to stay additional nights here before the tour (we're travelling for a while and having to watch our budget) so instead we stayed at the 'Train Inn' the night before for only 900 baht - It's not a 'modern hotel' (it's has more of a homely guest house feel instead - see my review on Train Inn on their page if you're arriving early and on a budget) but it was clean and had hot showers, free tea and coffee and reliable WiFi. If you're looking for something around here just so that you're super close to the train station and near to the tour start point I'd go with that instead. But for hotel-lovers, with a little more in the pocket, this Bangkok Centre Hotel isn't too bad.

As with the other reviews, I stayed here at the start of a G Adventures tour. I read the TA reviews prior and expected the worst.

We emailed before our arrival to ask for an early check-in, when we arrived we couldn't actually speak to the check-in desk as another member of staff came up to us and took our bags. We asked him about early check in but was told we'd have to wait till the check in time (about 3pm I think). We waited a few minutes in the lobby before going back to the check in desk, where they said our room was ready and we could check in now, so that was a bit odd!

The location is OK, the train station underground walkway is directly outside the hotel however there aren't any tourist attractions within walking distance. Me and my boyfriend walked to the nearest boat pier so we could catch a boat to the Grand Palace, the walk took about 40mins!

The hotel itself is average and the rooms are clean and comfortable - all we needed! Breakfast also wasn't too bad and had a decent selection of food, no cockroaches spotted fortunately.

A note about the taxi rank, anytime you walk past they will try to speak to you and find out where you're going. We usually just told them we were going to the station, based on previous reviews they over charge hugely on the taxi fare. Taxis are easy to find outside the hotel and are very cheap so I would avoid the hotel's taxi rank.

Located in a prime spot nearby MBK, this hotel was decent but I was not impressed by the wifi. It was pretty limited and two people in the same room could not use the wifi simultaneously (unless you paid an additional fee). The rooms were small and smelled a little smoky... I'm not sure I would stay here again. Note: I stayed here as part of a G Adventures tour.

I had eras these terrible reviews and expected the worst. How wrong was I. My room was basic but clean. Wi-fi worked well and beds were comfy. As for drink prices, sure they were a wee bit more than outside but that is normal. Buffet was adequate but at that price 'twas fine.

If you want zero atmosphere, expensive drinks (3 times the Bangkok average) and so so service then Bangkok Centre is for you.

Wouldn't have booked here if I'd had a choice - G Adventures start here. Clearly a G Adventures executive somewhere driving a nice Merc on the kickback he's had from this place!

Stayed here at the beginning and end of a G Adventure tour. Definitely better value elsewhere in Bangkok, but fine as a base to explore the city.
Breakfast is a decent buffet. Restaurant staff don't speak great English, but they have poolside service.
Some of the reception staff didn't speak English, but there was never an issue, as someone spoke it near to help.
Wi-fi is pretty temperamental, had a very good connection in the last room I stayed in 8003. Even numbered rooms face the pool, odd face Centra hotel. Same same noise wise (minimal).
Security deposit boxes are perfect and very private in case you're worried.
Had one meal at the restaurant but had to wait 40 minutes for spring rolls.
