“A good place to stay in Bangkok”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 January 2014

This is our third visit to Narai and we continue to find it comfortable and good value for money - the breakfast buffet is really GREAT for 300 baht and the staff are very welcoming and helpful. We also like the location - easy walking distance to a number of interesting restaurants including the Mango Tree with great Thai food in an outdoors setting.

Check in was quick and efficient. Our room had been recently renovated and had a nicer and more modern bathroom than on previous stays. It was quiet and comfortable allowing for a good night's sleep. Breakfast selection is excellent, and the view from the breakfast room either looking down onto the Narai's quite impressive lobby or looking out to Silom Road makes breakfast a highlight. The hotel's location makes for easy access to the sky train, and it is a pleasant walk to the river to catch ferries (or a cheap taxi fare if a perhaps 25 minute walk doesn't appeal). It is also an inexpensive taxi ride to Chinatown's good restaurants.

All in all the Narai remains good value.

From the Narai it's also a very easy road access to the South for those who may be thinking of picking up a car in Bangkok and driving South to Phuket, Khao Lak or similar.

Very impressed with the hotels staff and felt as if they cared about you. It has a nice gym and swimming pool , not to far a walk from Chong nongsi bts station. Buffet breakfast only 300 baht with fresh brewed coffee included. Foreigner

Booked last minute twin room for only 3100THB £30 with breakfast.
Reception and welcoming was good.

Once we arrived to the room I have just been disappointed by the cleaness and attention of details like broken light, dusty shelfs.

Room are big enough for two. Large shower but to close to the toilet.

Great big breakfast area with nice selection of hot food.

In general I was happy from what I paid but need to do more often maintenance to the rooms.

room 324 the microphone of the phone isn't working.

Also you must properly check before to find the plugs for the lighting (hidden under the wardrobe)

Will come back.

The Narai Hotel is a large, modern well located hotel on the popular Silom rd.offering dbl rooms for $50,upwards.well run, clean and 24hour service,my main reason for staying was the large pool with café newspaper and sunbeds on the 2nd floor. The bar and restaurant are expensive but outside the front door are an array of eateries not to mention the fantastic day market which "morphs"into a selection of restaurants come nightfall.use the narai for what its worth, a cleverly located hotel+pool with all the street delights of Bangkok on your doorstep

Room Tip: Skip hotel facilities and use local, better+cheaper, food, drink, laundry, etc

Overall, I really enjoyed the hotel - it was clean and the rooms were spacious. The service was subpar, especially considering we paid the same for a luxury hotel a week or so later with outstanding service (the Metropolitan). The wireless was spotty in room and the lobby had a strange smell. The front desk people were nice, but not really that helpful.

The FREE breakfast is amazing - every variety and endless options. A huge plus to staying there.

We stayed in this hotel for the 3rd time . After renovated, the room is clean, but the bed was not stable, it kept moving around. AC was too cold, and we couldn't control the temperature.
Breakfast was OK.
