I have stayed here many times before with family in the past. And chose this hotel for my trip to Thailand in October and November, Rooms are basic and clean. free wifi. the first time we stayed here there was work being done on the building and they put us right next to it, so we were being woken up at 7am every morning with drilling. not what you want when your on holiday. after two nights we asked to move rooms. as we were travelling around Asia we used this hotel as our base a few times. Another time we stayed our bathroom smelt very bad and you could smell the sewer. this was not pleasant. overall the hotel is good for the price. great location for kohsan road and 7/11. If you have more money to spend i would suggest staying in their sister hotel next door Nouvo city hotel.

The location of the hotel - Samsen Road, is well known to the taxi drivers, hence, it was easy to reach. It's very near to the Royal Palace and Buddha Temple. The hotel have two sections. The front section is named Nouvo city and the back section is New World.

The staffs were helpful. The booking preferences requested were respected and arranged. The rooms are reasonable and spacious. We had a room on 7th floor, on the back side, hence, we could view the city from the balcony. It was also not noisy. It will be even better if the AC & TV models are changed during next renovation.

The food is a bit costly compared to other places around but we really loved the taste, especially of the Indian foods. This is the only time we tried Indian foods in Thailand and it tasted almost like home. The free buffet breakfast had adequate choices too.

Although I am an Indian, Bengali and Hindu by religion, still, I feel that this hotel is very suitable for the Muslim persons conservative about their food and even the dress style of the ladies working around. It seems that the hotel is attentive about that.

This is a lovely hotel, we stayed for two nights after travelling around Thailand and it was just what we needed. Seven eleven next door, free wifi, street food per the road and about 5 mins away is khao San road which is a must! Very close to temples etc and in a nice area! People have left bad reviews but honestly this is a lovely hotel! Massive rooms too with ac and balcony :) I would stay here again!

We stayed here for 3 nights with extra bed. We do not know what is the problem during our registration, after they send us to our room (standard), we had settled down, half an hour later, they said they wrongly put us in a room, should be deluxe room. We need to pack once again just for the mistake. This is really annoying because we are really tired just coming from Cambodia. The reception should be more alert on this matter.During our stay, we need to have breakfast at Sara Restaurant at the Nouvo Hotel which is really good and variety of food. Only the last day we breakfast at the New World City Hotel, which is really bad service like they start breakfast on 6.30pm but when we go to breakfast around 8am, the fried noodle just completed cooked plus other food. Its quite late. I love the location of the hotel, 5 minutes walking to Khao San road. 7-eleven just next to the hotel. At the lobby, there is tour service counter and you can sign up for many activities for quite good price. Even New World City Hotel and Nouvo Hotel is a sibling, if you stay at new world, you cant use the swimming pool from Nouvo and you need to pay around 500bath per use.

When the taxi dropped me off in front of the hotel, I thought "this might not be bad." The lobby area was open and looked modern. Unfortunately, when I told the front desk person that I had booked at the New World City, she advised me that this was the Nouvo City Hotel and that my hotel was connected to it by a small hallway. I walked through the hallway and when I reached the front desk of the New World City Hotel I was really disappointed. The lobby was not well lit and smelled moldy. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. My room was on the 5th floor and the bell boy advised me that renovations were in progress. Unfortunately, my room had not been renovated! It was a complete dump! The head board for the bed was missing but 4 screws left remained in the wall exposed. The table next to the bed looks like it had not been cleaned in a while. The AC struggled to keep the smelly room cool. The bathroom was dimly lit but functional. Overall, if you're not lucky enough to stay in a renovated room, you'll be staying in a crack house room. I've stayed in budget hotels around the world and new not to expect the Hilton. But, Thai hotels take pride in their cleanliness. NOT THIS ONE! I should spent the extra $20US and stayed next door at Nuovo City!

Room Tip: Ask for a renovated room! If not, it's a step up from a crack house!

Average overall and certainly plenty better in Bangkok. The rooms are drab and uninspiring, old and out dated, this hotel has little to offer apart from the handy location a short walk from Kho San Road. Staff were OK and seemed quite obliging. We were asked to pay 150tb for a buffet breakfast that was basically picked clean at 7.00am in the morning!
Wont stay again.

We stayed here a couple of times on several occasions. The hotel is quite old-fashioned, rooms are large, some of them have very noisy airconditioners that sometimes even leak. But still we come here because we like the location although it has been changing a lot in recent years and certainly will continue doing so. Altogether a decent option if one doesn't expect anything fancy.
