“An enjoyable stay!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 February 2014

My husband and I went on our 2 week honeymoon..Prince Palace was our first stop for our 2 night stay. The hotel is massive, always lots going on, and a nice breakfast buffet on the one floor. They also had a nice chill pool area that we unfortunately never got to use.
The location isn't the most 'touristy' area I guess, but there are lots of markets around and you can ride a Tuk Tuk for a bartering good deal to hit the main hot spots, The Grand Palace, shopping areas, Koh San Road, etc. We had fun! The hotel room was very big, we had a living room/kitchenette area + another large room with a queen bed and bathroom with a tub.
All in all, we didn't spent much time in our room, but it was fine with us. The breakfast buffet was delicious as well :) I think we only spent approx $47 USD a night.

I stayed here with my 9 weeks old baby in October 2013. When we arrived I was having some personal difficulties and I was crying and very upset and the staff did nothing but laugh at me and it took them 30 minutes to answer my question about a taxi to the border with Cambodia. The hotel also looks nothing like it does in the pictures and is in a dodgy part of town. I didn't feel safe there with a young baby.

Great Stay at Prince Palace Hotel for a first time visit to Bangkok. Reception was kind enough to allow us to check in early.. We arrived at 10am and check in was meant to be at 12pm.

The hotel is a bit on the outskirts of the main/ popular areas of interest and eateries in Bangkok- However very close taxi ride to wherever you need to go. Not close to public transport/trains.

This is a huge hotel and reception was in a different building to our rooms. However the staff assisted in helping us find our way around. Staff were pleasant and helpful. They also have a travel desk to assist with tours and taxi bookings.

We booked a 2 bedroom family room which had a lounge area and kitchenette as well(kitchen sink, table and fridge only- no untensils). Furniture is a bit dated but the rooms and bathroom were clean. Bedding was in good condition and sufficient cupboard space.

The public areas of the hotel are in good condition and clean. Spa and pools on site.

Avoid the on site restaurants as they are ridiculously overpriced. Breakfast was decent with option of traditional and western Breakfast. Large selection.

There is a large wholsale clothing market (Bobae market) just outside the hotel.

I had stayed there at the hotel twice and planning to go back there again. The services were great, staff were attentive and polite. Although our room had some issues, the staff made it seamless in changing the room and fixed the issues. The rooms were clean and complimentary breakfast were great. I would recommend anyone to stay there. Though it might be off from the major tourist area and other public transportation, but tuk tuk and taxi were always available, if you tell the front desk they will get one for you quickly.

Nice and clean room which unfortunately had issues with the A/C control and had a shower which sprayed water in all directions.
The location is nice and within walking distance from khao san road.
The breakfast buffet is Asian inspired and doesn't offer too many choices if you are used to a western/European breakfast (they served rice).

The hotel didn't live up to our expectations considering the price we payed.

i am sure you can find better properties in Bangkok for this price. from the moment we entered they seem too businesslike and unwelcoming. Would not go even an inch out of their way to accommodate even our slightest desire for room cleaning or warming our ham for breakfast. Just the fact that they get tour groups by the dozens makes them complacent. Most of us stay here because of the price on offer, but I as I discovered there are better trade off. Also communication is a big issue , one would have expected a hotel this size catering to international tourists would make it a point to have more English speaking personnel.. but that was not to be... our only sore point in our entire fantastic Thailand trip was this hotel. Give it a miss if you could ...

Room Tip: the new wing is to chose from...near the breakfast area and have elevators that go all the way to he...

This hotel is in the middle of the garment district and within walking distance there is nothing more than hundreds of factory clothing stores selling cheap T- Shirts, Jeans etc. I could not find a decent restaurant at all.

The hotel itself is huge but seriously out of date. My room was also huge but with threadbare carpet and outdated flowery wallpaper. No internet at all in the rooms but you can pay 600baht for 24hr access (24 hours expire in 24 hours whether you use it or not) but can only use it in the lobby. You can buy 60 minutes for 300baht and at least that is for 60 minutes of actual use.

The AC in the room had two temperatures, freezing or really freezing.

The Thai restaurant on the 31st floor is weird. More of a karaoke bar serving mediocre food.

A few of the staff were polite and helpful but most were indifferent, especially at the pool bar.

I'll never go back but if you want cheap (I paid 1200baht a night) it might be to your taste.
