We read in a travel book about the terrible National museum of Bangkok.
We found it the complete opposite.
Visiting with our two boys 5 and 3 we had a fantastic day. In fact if we had time we would go back. The kids were free and we were 200baht each. The first part we went in was so well displayed we spent probably too long there to see much else. It really brought the Thai history to life and had great displays. The cafe was also quite nice and the kids loved their noodles. Toilets very clean also which is a big plus for kids. We the went into an older building but found the artefacts well laid out and very interesting. The buildings that they have in the museum compound are quite exquisite also. Plenty of photo opportunities.
We would definitely go again, but next time get there at opening time so we can explore more.
