We booked the deluxe room for 4 nights, were charged the deluxe rate for 4 nights, but did not discover that we were not in the deluxe room until we stayed there for 2 days... We did not get a refund for the difference.

Also, family staying in the hotel in another room booked a superior room, but the superior room was not available so they were forced to pay for an upgraded room... Can you imagine that? The hotel made a mistake on the reservations and we have to pay extra.

Dear VanstonHamilton,

Thank you for your review and I would like to make a correction to your remarks that there was a mistake on RSVN.
After investigated your original bookings 2 sup twin rooms and 1 Deluxe on 6-8 FEB. you came 2 days early on 4-5 FEB and that time we had offer you both Sup and deluxe. which you decided to stay in Superior room for your 2 early arrived nights.
Anyway our staff should have explained to you clearly. kindly accept our sincere apologies and we would like to offer you a 2 night free upgrade for your next coming. look forward to your return visit soon.

Sincerely,

Welcome to hobbitland in the middle of a bustling city. At Salil the staff is friendly and attentive at the front desk and restaurant as well. English is spoken at decent levels. A big minus for this hotel is the room size. Other rooms in Cityhotels at this price range offer at least twice the floorspace. The mini bathroom has a micro bathtub which was suitable for my 2 year old kid, but lacks the comfort of a regular sized tub for an adult. Although decorations throughout the premises are neat, everything appears toysized and below average dimensions. This includes the furniture, lift, workspace and bed. Their WiFi is operating, but the silly software forces you to relog frequently. Besides the price it is difficult to justify the 4 stars as there is neither a pool, nor a gym or any amenity that you'd expect at a 4-star hotel. You can get a better room and a pool for their rates at many other places along this central section of Sukhumvit Road. Expect your typical Bangkok tour touts (rip-offs) lingering outside this hotel for victims and grab a cab from the traffic on the road. Chances are that you will not get taken for a rip-off. The distance to the BTS is manageable, but the walkway is in a sorry condition and full of hawkers, touts or prostitutes (depending on the time of day). The breakfast is the typical fare for a tourist hotel, small choice of breads and spreads - but Asian stir frys. Cocktails are weak at the bar and lack taste, but you can get good ones for half price across the road at the VW-Bus bar on the roadside :)

Room Tip: Lower floors with windows facing the road are noisy at night and have little or no view

Very nice decoration with vintage style (I guess).

The room is clean and comfortable. But the bed is too small even for Asian standard. My feet were hanging off the edge considering I'm only 165cm tall.

Shower and bathtub are refreshing with warm water, which was very nice especially after a long, tiring shopping walk.

The staff were extremely nice (late at night when there weren't so much customers). But they did keep their smiles on, which I appreciated.

Great location within 3 minutes walk from the skytrain, but that 3-minute could be extremely painful when carrying luggage since the street is always crowded with all the stalls on the pavement, and you're forced to walk on the road. (The hotel is not to be blamed though.)

Good overall, might consider re-visiting in the future :)

It is cute and even stylish with nice touches in the rooms. The problem for me was that despite the colors and endless stylistic exclamation points, in the end, what you get is a small room that somehow lacks the comfort that other hotels in this class offer. I never felt at home or particularly comfortable. The photos make the room and beds look large...but they are not!
Breakfast is pretty basic...cold eggs, instant coffee, a couple of local dishes, fruit and yogurt. If I was paying what they are asking for deluxe rooms, breakfast would be a disaster!
The bathroom was spacious and nicely tiled and outfitted. The shower, though strong, offered only lukewarm water at best. There is no lobby to speak of. I thought the front staff was friendly enough - i.e., they smiled a lot.
They advertise the hotel as being only a 3 minute, 200 meter walk from Nana Station. 200 meters in 3 minutes? Like most things with the hotel, it sounds or looks good, but be prepared for some disappointment.

Room Tip: Book online to take advantage of all sorts of deals. Deluxe rooms are much better furnished and much...

Booked to stay here for 1 week, initially there was an overbooking on our room, we got switched to their Salil Thonglor Hotel for 2 nights, then moved back to Soi 11 for the last 5 nights. We were glad to be here, this hotel is much better than their Thonglor version, the rooms are larger, brighter, immaculately clean, and its location of 5 minute walk to Nana BTS skytrain made it a winner. There is plenty of stuff to see and do with in walking distance, including the ritzy Bed Supper club across the street. The breakfast during our stay (high season) was excellent, included eggs, cereals, ham, toasts and a variety of Thai stirfrys that included chicken and ginger flavors. Fruits were there too, mainly watermelons, pinapples and Pappayas. Coffee needs improvement though. Free Wifi worked good through out our stay. The front desk staff were super friendly and nice ( the Salil beauties), they seemed to be genuinely concerned with our comfort. We got upgraded to the Delux room due to our reservation mix up, and that room was fantastic, very spacious with great bathroom, tub and shower. We enjoyed our stay here and my wife is already recommending Salil 11 for her 2 friends that are planning to visit Bangkok in March.

Room Tip: Take the Sky train from Nana to the river (look at the train map), and from there take the ferry up...
