Have only stayed at Hotel Mermaid once and found the room big enough and comfortable with a nice view as I booked with balcony view as not all rooms come with balcony.
Only bad thing was the very large window separating from bedroom and bathroom as no privacy being supplied with curtain or blinds of some sort and makes you feel uncomfortable while sitting on toilet doing your business with some one that can watch you.
Very large bathroom but privacy needed for those that want.
Stayed here for 4 nights and on the 3rd hot stifling humid night the power went out in the whole hotel and was told by staff that had to wait about 5 hours until maintenance staff started work to fix but they must have got many complaints as was fixed about 3 hours later and in the mean time I slept in the bath as was only way to get some coolness through my body.
Meals are very good and very nice bar and restaurant downstairs.
Nice pool area but have to choose your time so as you get the sun and not shade from hotel and other buildings around.
Found the daytime desk staff and doorman very helpful but different with the night time shift and seems too hard for doorman to even open door for you but maybe staff have changed now as it was some months ago that I stayed here.
Hotel is in quiet soi short 2 min walk from Sukhumvit rd with many bars restaraunts and shopping at your door step.
Found room price to be good value and would recommend to others as long as they have changed certain staff members and have no more power shortages.
