When you visit Bangkok then a visit to Grand Palace including the Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) is a must see

Of course there is and will be lots and lots of tourists so either get there early or if you on a tour holiday coach then be prepared.
You must have over the knee shorts / trousers and have your shoulders covered. Shoes can not be worn inside the temples. If you want to talk, take photos or selfies then sit down on the carpets or you will get told off !

trousers and wrap around top can be purchased just out the complex. Not sure on the price as no one in our party needed them.
My suggestion is buy zip of hiking / tourist trouser shorts and carry a spare T shirt.

Fascinating palace and many building on its territory, can’t describe it in words how beautiful they are -so just go and see yourself ! Yes, there a lot of people, you can take an audio guide and try to focus on the main things only, take photos, be patient and enjoy !

It was super hot when we went there and very crowded with tourists, in the end we only spent a while there. We can't even take a proper photo as there were way too many tourists. Totally not enjoyable. Entrance fee is unreasonably high at 500 baht per pax too.

Took a taxi from Pratunam area and arrived at the wrong side of the road. Queue to enter the place was long. End of the day, we only visited the temple opposite it as we find it not worth to pay the entrance fees as the place was really crowded with tour groups. Might visit it on the next visit and probably do it on a weekday.

All the complex, a long with The Emerald Buddha temple, is amazing!
A lot of tourists though!!!
Must wear long pants to get in, you can buy them just on the other side of the street really cheap.
