Description: Yamazato, our signature Japanese restaurant, is located on the 24th floor. Yamazato has a well-deserved international reputation for consistent quality that never compromises the integrity of ingredients and flavour. In keeping with this fine tradition we offer truly authentic Japanese cuisine prepared and presented under the expert guidance of Master Chef Shigeru Hagiwara. The beauty of Yamazato lies in its fine details, from a ceiling that mimics the intricate folds of crisp origami to the clever use of warm wood finishes. Waitresses wear traditional kimonos and every classic dish is presented in rustic earthenware. The choice of cuisine at Yamazato is extensive and includes traditional Kaiseki Ryori set menu dishes for dinner. Kaiseki cuisine dates back to the Japanese Imperial Court in the 9th century AD and has evolved into one of the world's most popular forms of dining. Yamazato also offers outstanding Teppanyaki, Sushi and Sashimi dishes as well as an extensive a la carte menu. Choices evolve with the seasons and the availability, for example, of popular seafood. The restaurant celebrates a number of popular Japanese festivals throughout the year with special set menus and a la carte dishes. Yamazato is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Operational hours: Breakfast:6:00 am - 10:30 am Lunch: 11:30 am - 2:30 pm Dinner: 6:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Great Japanese food and authentic enough to see roomful of Japanese dining there every time.

Very nice place to have a quiet experience away from the noise and confusion that is Bangkok.

Japanese waitresses who understand the quality of a tranquil time too.

“Great view over Bangkok skyline!”
Reviewed 31 July 2014

We came here for a wine tasting event at Okura and ended up for dinner here afterwards. The decor is very Japanese and the service was great. We got a table next to the window with an amazing view over Bangkok which was very enjoyable while munching away on our dinner.

The food was great, fresh and tasty although quite pricey but you really get what you pay for. We enjoyed our dinner here although being a bit tipsy after the wine tasting, I still remember the panoramic view of Bangkok at night!

I hope you give it a try! If not for the food, you can always get a drink and sit at the outdoor terrace and look over Bangkok skyline while enjoying a cocktail or two.

“Luxury and taste”
Reviewed 29 July 2014 via mobile

Absolutely stunning restaurant. From the food to the service it's a complete success. I guess now I can pretend I ate real japanese quality cuisine.
Sushi and sashimi were the best my wife and I ever had (taste) and the grilled pork and chicken are to die for.
We were staying at a hotel really close to The Okura prestige, which looks marvelous from what we saw. A must try.

“Japanese food done to its finest”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

Bangkok has no shortage of good Japanese restaurants but Yamazato brings it to a new level with a hint of fusion. The lunch menu for THB 800 is good value, offers a variety of dishes for sampling.
