this hotel is a paradise for Platinum mall goers! located just opposite the mall, unload your loot anytime you want a break from all that shopping. service was great, but thats common in Thailand. staffs aren't really familiar with the usual travellers' questions, but are really helpful in looking things up for you.

wifi is cranky though, logs you out time and time again. it is not exactly well-located if you are travelling around the whole of Bangkok. a 15-20 minutes walk away from Ratchathewi station. you will end up taking taxis and tuk tuks a lot.

managed to book during the opening special rate (SGD$70++).... so it was worth it...

Pros:::

- staffs were friendly and attentive...
- *** bed was AWESOME... one of the best beds and pillows...
- has complimentary coffee and teas, shampoo, toiletries, slippers etc::
- starbucks and 24hr Mac just below...
- opp Pantip plaza and Grand Diamond and Platinum Mall...
- 7-11 just across the road or down Soi 19...
-*** just next to Soi 19, where the best braised pork throttle rice and wanton noodles is... (sells out in late afternoon... MUST TRY....)
- many road side stalls in the morning down Soi 19...

Cons:::

- touched down at 2pm... reached hotel at 3pm... but wasnt able to check in... room wasnt ready... told to wait for an hour... i was fine with it... just FYI... it might happen when they have high occupancy

- sadly.. WIFI was not available in my room.... recept told us that they are currently upgrading the wifi for better reception so the signal might be unstable.... but in fact it was just totally not detectable... Lobby has strong wifi thou... so i really hope they fix this soon...

there are a few others in the same area for half the price, but half the ambience too of course...

In general... I would come back if i'm with a special someone for the nice ambience or just willing to fork out a little more for a hip and nicer hotel to pamper myself...

This is a great boutique hotel with great accessibility to the shopping centers and morning market streets along soi 19. Diagonally opposite Platinum mall (less than 5mins walk), directly opposite Grand Diamond Shopping mall. My fiancee and I seconded all of the good comments listed on tripadvisor for Glow Pratunam hotel (friendly and helpful staff, nicely decorated and spacious room, not the best location for shopping, but it is good enough, only 10mins walk to Central World, etc.).
However, as this is a very new hotel, most of the cab drivers do not know it's location if you just tell them Glow Pratunam hotel. You will need to tell them it's opposite Grand Diamond building, at Shibuya shopping Center, or just tell them Platinum Mall. The breakfast selection can be improved as it is quite limited and pretty much the same everyday.

Overall experience, Great!

I would give it a rating of 4.5 / 5

I chose this hotel because of its location since our trip is business with pleasure. We were greeted in the ground floor of the mall with the hotel staff. At first we were hesitant to leave our luggage with them since they were stranger. But i saw their name tag and found out that they were hotel staff. They show the way to the main lobby of the hotel on 7th floor. The receptionists flashed us with their smiles. They asked us to sitdown first as they register us. But their lounge area was so hot. Before i reacted, the receptionists immediately explain that their hotel was undergoing some maintenance at that time and gave us a welcome drinks, the best fruit punch i ever tasted. The aircon problem I thought its only in the lobby, too bad but also in the room. They told us to go first in the mall. Well, i just came from my work before flying to bangkok thats why i badly needed some rest. Well, we just decided to get something to eat. They have a foodcourt in the mall which is on 6th floor. Then after having our very late lunch, we went to the room. The receptionists guided us. And when she open the door, i could smell that its new and clean. She told us the amenities that they have. I checked the toilet, it was so clean. They also have ipod dock and a cordless phone, flat screen tv and modern control panel for the light, aircon and clock. Lastly, the bed was so great! It was so soft as well as the pillow! Im very choosy when it comes to the pillow but they have the softest and most comfortable pillow i have ever tried in a hotel. I even told my husband that i want to buy it.
They have buffet breakfast but minimal choices. And the bacon and sausage always there. No more choices for main dish since we are a rice person.
Everytime that me and my husband will go down the lobby, they will smile on us. And would always greet us.
Overall, i have a great bangkok experience because of this hotel. I just hope that they keep up the good service, clean hotel and friendly staff. So that the next time we visit bangkok,we will still experience the first impression that we had. Thanks.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 days the last week of August 2012 and we were truly satisfied because of its cleanliness and location.

How to get there from the airport? Take the Airport Rail Link (City Line) and get off at Ratchaprarop station (40 baht). If you don't have a big luggage, you can walk from there to the hotel but it's a bit of a walk on busy streets or Sois (side-streets). Otherwise, you can take a metered taxi (about 40 to 50 baht).

We arrived a little bit early than the check-in time but they let us leave our luggage so we can start strolling around the area. The "welcome drink" hit the spot since it was a warm, sunny day.

The room was immaculate! We just loved the white linens. The bed was soft much like a feather bed, even the pillows were fluffy.

The bathroom was squeaky clean and it certainly passed my standards. It was well-equipped with shampoo, body wash, liquid hand soap, toothbrushes, shower caps, cotton, cotton buds, tissues. But what are missing - hair conditioner and body lotion! The towels were soft and white, and so were the bath robes hanging in the closet. Disposable bedroom slippers were also provided.

Our room was on the 14th floor from where we could see Platinum Fashion Mall and the busy street downstairs. The neon signs were wonderful to watch at night when there's nothing else to do because by 7:30pm, most of the stores (especially Platinum Mall) were already closed.

If you wish to take the BTS Skytrain to go somewhere else, you could either go to Siam or Chidlom station. Take the Central World Skywalk all the way to Siam (and to Siam Paragon, too). We tried catching the train from Ratchathewi station on our way to the Chatuchak Weekend market, but I wouldn't recommend it because there was a deserted portion with burnt-down houses that you have to pass.

If you are planning a shopping trip to Bangkok, this hotel is perfect. Tourist attractions are also easily accessible via the BTS Skytrain, then just take the connecting MRT or River Express boats to wherever you wish to go.

I hope this review helps in choosing the right hotel for you in Bangkok.
