A truly great experience with the young Thai " Iron Chef " winner. The 9 course Degustation Menu with Wine pairing is outstanding , though not cheap , but worth it. Every detail is thought of like in a french Michelin Restaurant , very enjoyable for food lovers. We had as a main the Lamb Loin & Lamb Belly cooked under Vacuum absolutely delicious! The Belly was melting in the mouth , we loved that the portions where slightly bigger than in a French Michelin Restaurant.Excellent service too. We will be back for a special occasion.

“Fine dining at a cost”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

Went to this restaurant due to the hype with the chef winning on iron chef
If you go on the weekdays mon-thurs you can get the tuna menu for 40% off
We went for the 9 course tasting menu and it was good if you are after fine dining
Portion sizes are manageable. The food was good but it wasn't mind blowing
Be prepared to pay for a fine dining experience

“A great restaurant for food lovers”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

One of the best restaurants in Bangkok that I would love to revisit. There are so many new restaurants in Bangkok that one friend was assigned specially to study restaurants worth visiting. He recommended this restaurant and our group was not disappointed. This is one of the restaurants that our group of nine fussy eaters agreed to give it flying colors.Since there are so many of us we did have a great variety of food and we all agreed that the food here is excellent whether it's salad, appetizers or the various main dishes.I liked the scallop topped with foie gras and shared a great chateaubriand with a friend. The portion was so large that I had took half home! In fact we didn't have any desserts because we were too full.Service and wine lists were also excellent.

“michellin star”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

I love good food. I except that a certain caliber of food comes with a price tag. This is one of those restaurants, and its damn good at living up to that price tag! It is the closest thing to Michellin star food that i have experienced in Bangkok.

The staff are incredibly helpful, the atmosphere is that of an upmarket restaurant but somehow also relaxed and welcoming. I ate with my parents and husband, we had the 9 course tasting menu and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I would happily recommend this place to anyone with some spare cash to spend. It is worth every penny.

“Excellent food, nice decor, and you pay for it”
Reviewed 21 April 2014

Whales Belly is one of the best restaurants I have been to in Bangkok for quality western inspired food. The chef is well known and very skilled, and the wine list is extensive. Service can be a little overbearing and over familiar, but no complaints. You could eat for 1,500 Baht a head if you were careful and had one drink, but if you want to go to town you could easily spend 10,000 Baht for 2 people with a decent bottle of wine.

The location requires a car/taxi to get there, and perhaps this is why its always so quiet when I visit, which is a shame as this place really deserves to succeed. Great to impress a client, lover or visiting friend.
