Indian food at its best. Not that pricey and good amount of food for a couple. We had a Tandoori Kabab Platter, with assorted lamb, chicken and seafood. The taste is really good and the spices as something to aprreciate. We chose this restaurant while walking down Silom Road. back to our hotel. We wanted something fast and different. It was a good choice!

As others have said, it is a little pricey for Bangkok though comparable to any non Thai eatery. Service is good for me, fairly friendly and genuine. Portion of the main is a little skinny compared to the UK but it tends to be too large for me in the UK so no biggy

We (group of three) took a friend from Canada for a taste of Indian food in Bangkok. Cafe The India was our second choice after finding Planet Hollywood closed (sad, there was no mention of this closure anywhere!). Cafe The India is located on a bustling street corner on Silom road. With bright lights and smiling staff, we felt we were in the right place for the evening. They had the challenge of 'reminding us of home food' and at the same time make a first impression with Indian food on our Canadian friend. We ordered for the safe bets - naans (Indian bread), butter chicken masala, panneer butter masala and the dish of the day (in our judgment), chicken malai kabab. Our order was served pretty quick and I wasn't expecting that. The portion size was fine. Cafe The India passed the test when it came to taste and recapturing the flavours. Our Canadian friend just loved the kababs. We were happy for him. We found the restaurant to be over-priced (esp. the south Indian dishes) but the food taste compensated for the pricey factor. The restaurant was noisy, though, with India Vs Australia cricket match being screened live on TV. We were surprised to see many Western tourists. Looked like the restaurant was busy though it was only a weekday. Once you step out, you have travel options of bike-taxi, tuk-tuks (waiting for us) and BTS train to head back to your hotel. If you're in Bangkok and you want to try Indian food, this is the place to go - not for a great dining experience, but definitely for good Indian food.

Evening meal for two people with normal appetites cost over £50, almost 3000 baht including one large beer each

The food here was quite nice, not exceptional but nice.
The restaurant looked enticing.
Toilets could really be improved. I always think that the toilets should be almost as clean as the kitchen. Fortunately I didn't visit the kitchen!

Generally all Indian food in Bangkok is overpriced.

Will not be returning. :(

Also note that a ten percent service charge is added to you final bill :)))
