“Great, but check it's right for you”
Reviewed 4 June 2013

Really great addition to the Bangkok hotel scene. We had a corner suite which was possibly the best-designed room I've ever seen. Huge and with amazing views, we really couldn't fault it. Bathroom particularly was very attractively appointed and designed. The common areas also have a really well-designed feel to them and we especially liked the wave-style pool which was very interesting (apart from the pool bar, where the decor looked like they'd lost funding mid-project, but easy not to dwell on). Breakfast was also one of the best I've seen for the price.
The hotel is very cutting-edge contemporary and for a long stay a couple of things might start to grate, especially the pumping-choons music scheme that plays throughout the hotel that tiny bit too loudly, so be aware of that. For one night though it was extra special and we will definitely be paying a return visit.

Room Tip: Corner suite was well worth the extra

I am a fan club of W hotel and would love to try W Bangkok once new opening. The design of W lounge and Woo bar is great as well as all the area of hotel. For the room as it is a city hotel but it is so small and feel tight. The Wet is nice at the night time very relax the Sweat is good but need more equipment. And W talents need somemore attention to guest, I was waiting the taxi at the lobby the ambassader were just talking to each other and not interesting to help us, didn't feel like warm welcome at all.

Hi Alice_Ker,

Thank you for your comment. The smallest room we have is 41 sqm which is larger than average in Thailand. For your next visit you can try our Cool Corner room, which is 47 sqm, twin beds with panoramic city view.

We look forward to welcoming you back on your next trip to Bangkok.

I've stayed in other W hotels and the W Bangkok is right on track. Hip, well designed rooms and a great chill-out vibe felt throughout the hotel. Also has nice fitness center and pool area. The only negative I experienced is the front desk area is adjacent to the bar/nightclub, so the lobby can be really loud at night. I checked in around 11PM and the music from the bar was loud enough that I couldn't hear the front desk clerk. So, just keep that in mind. Aside from that, overall it was a great hotel and I'll plan to stay there again on my next trip to Bangkok.

Recent business trip to Bangkok staying three nights. Hotel is new and modern with excellent finish and design in the rooms. Very comfortable but not overly large. Comfy bed but a bit unsure what the point of the boxing glove pillows on the bed - Thai boxing reference?? Otherwise the rooms are modern fit out with no sense of any local content - could be anywhere in the world. Floor to ceiling blue glass wall separates the bathroom and is visually impressive.
As it was business did not spend much time using facilities. Lobby bar very open and bit empty and lacking atmosphere - was mid week though.
Location is very good and will be fantastic if visiting the new Ku De Ta when opened next door.
Good wifi and perfect spot for business travel.

Arrival experience was good and the check in was swift. Concierge associate (Amarin) is very informative and friendly. The room that I stayed was very spacious and bright. Housekeeping has done a great job in terms of room cleanliness but they missed my last day of turndown (no big deal on that). I like the water pressure and it gave me a good shower. The comfort of bed is marvelous and the best thing was I did informed my preference of latex pillow and it was prepared before my arrival and that gave me a good night sleep. I noticed that the breakfast associates was very attentive too. Overall I have a very satisfying stay in this hotel. As I am travelling solo so the room without a bathroom door is not a big concern for me. It will be quite uncomfortable is you are travelling with friends or colleague.

Very Chic and modern hotel, less than 5 minutes walk to the Chong Nonsi BTS
station, easy and convenience to travel to Siam and Chit Lom.

We stayed in the Marvelous suite, the room setting is great, with a spacious bathroom, stand alone bath tub and an extra toilet. I personally feel the design and furniture of the room is a bit too dark, but it is really cool.

The airport pick up service by Mercedes S class limousine is great, took around 30 minutes, price is a bit high at THB2,800 per trip when compare with a local taxi charged only around 400 to 600 THB.

We hired the same car from W for a trip to a resort around khao yai national park which is located at the north of Bangkok, single trip took around 3 to 3.5 hours, round trip charged at THB12,000 by W, the local taxi will be charging at least THB 7,000 for this round trip. It definitely worth every penny as the car is very comfortable, luxury and safe, with personal TV and WIFI ! It provides so much fun for the long trip!

The service is impeccable, from emails with reservation staff (Thanks Temsiri for the prompt replies and detail information), checking in, housekeeping, the bar, breakfast at Kitchen, etc. We found we left a short pants on the bed after we check out, I emailed W and they send us back the short pants when the driver picked us up from the resort in Khao Yai National Park to the airport, great service.

A little disappointment is that the Bar was really quiet during our stay (even on the promotional theme night), no atmosphere at all, far behind the other W hotels we stayed, but the cocktails taste great, loved the Mango mojito!

Finally, Special Thanks for our young driver waking up in the early morning to pick us up from Khao Yai!

Three nights and days at the W hotel . The food, rooms and service were faultless but the Woo bar lacked any atmosphere and felt like too much of an open space. The pool was small and empty so also lacked atmosphere. For a holiday weekend it was surprisingly quiet and there seemed to be more staff than guests.
The concierge tips for restaurants and bars was top notch. We would definitely return.

Room Tip: The standard room was moire than adequate. Why pay up!
