Stayed here from June 19-23 and we loved everything about this hotel. Room is small yet very clean, homie, relaxing, and the bed is very comfortable. Location is perfect! Right in front of the hotel (as in literally less than 50 steps from the lobby) is the BTS National Stadium which makes it easier to go around BKK. Mbk, Siam Discovery, Siam Center and Siam Paragon are some
of the few malls that are walking distance from the hotel. If you're into exploring their street food, you can just go out of the hotel and buy from the vendors.

Will definitely stay here next time i visit bkk!

We stayed at both the Mercure and the more budget-friendly Ibis in BKK Siam (which both share one building), and I'll say that the price difference between the two was definitely worth forking out. The Mercure rooms are just that little bit bigger, enough to make your stay more comfortable and relaxed all around. We felt a little claustrophobic in the Ibis Hotel: there's not much room around the bed on one side, and who knew a shower could be squeezed into such a small pentagon-shaped crevice?

The tiles in the bathroom are unevenly cut which made me dizzy coming off a 12 hour bus trip, and the toilet had no bidet shower unlike the Mercure. The walls are very thin and we could actually hear our friends through the wall when calling them on the phone, not to mention the doors slamming further down the hallway when we were trying to sleep.

On the positive side, the room was quite clean (other than a hair in the bathroom), the location is amazing for all purposes in Bangkok and the beds are very comfortable. For short stays this hotel is good value and there's not much to complain about, but if you want to really enjoy a longer stay, you might wish to upgrade to the Mercure.

Dear Blue H,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience on Tripadvisor about your last stay at Ibis Siam.

I am glad to read that you have tried both of our hotel, which gave you the opportunity to notice some differences in terms of amenities and service. Or hotels display different kinds of standards in order to meet every traveller's expectations and budgets, which explains why your stay at the Mercure has been more comfortable. But for both our hotel the same policy is applied, you will notice the same cleanliness in our rooms and the same friendliness coming from our staff because we value our guests in the same way no matter where they are hosted.

Thank you for this review, I hope to welcome you back soon may it be at Mercure or Ibis hotel.

Best regards.

My wife and I have always favored Ibis. The rooms are always clean and efficient. The concierge is always very helpful and which ever Ibis you visit, the staff speak english. We've tried 2 Ibis hotels in Korea and this one in Siam, Bangkok.

For us Ibis in Siam is the best because its right across the railway station (Siam Station) which gives you access to every area you want to go to. Tuk-tuks can be found just outside the hotel. If you prefer a cab, any of the friendly staff will gladly assist you. They even log the taxi ID to make sure you're safe and not over charged.

And if you feel like going to the mall, MBK is just a few steps away. The main Jim Thomson shop and museum is just around the corner too, literally.

Being close to these areas cuts down your costs on transportation, i.e. more money for making great memories on your trip.

We will definitely come back to this hotel each time we're in Bangkok.

Dear Dr_iriscarpio,

Thank you for choosing Ibis Siam for your recent stay in Bangkok. I was delighted to hear that once more you had an enjoyable time at one of our numerous Ibis hotel.

I am glad that you have liked the cleanliness as well as the professionalism of our staff, but it is obviously our location that you have appreciated the most. As you have said, you will find in front of the hotel any kind of transportation means, tuk tuk, taxi, bus, sky train and close by the most famous malls of the entire city such as MBK or Paragon Mall.

Thank you again for these kind words, we are looking forward to welcoming you and your wife soon again.

Best regards.

We tested our adventurous by staying at this hotel during the curfew but it was fine except the group of Mongolian kids that stayed there played with the elevators that made us wait longer to use the elevators :) I hope that this hotel still maintain their serenity and other guest's comfort by managing those groups into one designated floors, etc. We didn't hear the loud music from neighbouring Lub'd until the curfew ended on Sat 14 June :)

Dear Amajalan,

Thank you for taking a bit of your time to write this review about your second stay with us at Ibis Siam, it is a pleasure to know that you were satisfied with our facilities and provided services.

I am sorry to read that your experience was a bit altered because of some of our guests. Indeed, during your stay was held the Asian Draughts Championship 2014 at Mercure's lobby and most of the participants were hosted in our hotel.

Of course this kind of event provokes some euphoria among the young players resulting in them being sometimes loud in the communal areas. So indeed, we took the necessary measures to limit the interaction between those groups and other guests, such as specific designated floors, I just hope that it was not too troublesome for you.

Thank you again for sharing your point of view, I hope to welcome you back for a third stay as soon as possible.

Best regards.

Booked one night in this hotel on our way to Phuket. All facilities similar to the other Ibis I have stayed at. Clean and comfortable rooms, extremely courteous staff, small yet well stocked cafe. The cafe was running a Rubik's cube challenge and manged to get a free drink!
Great location and definitely worth the price. Surely recommended.

Nice to hear that you enjoyed your stay, especially the very central location – in front of the “National Stadium” bts station and only a few steps from MBK as well as Paragon mall – and our professional and very helpful staff.

Only being a 2 star hotel you don't expect much but Ibis was excellent ! Staff were so friendly and helpful! Beds were probably the softest beds I've ever slept on in Thailand (beds are normally pretty rock hard). It was clean and quiet too. The rooms were quite small but that isn't really an issue because we were hardly in them! Location was fantastic.

Simple hotel, well appointed, great location in the very heart of Bangkok.

I thought the staff were a bit off with their service, they rarely lifted their heads when you walked into the lobby. Breakfast was simple but ok.

Ok for the price.
