Just walking distance from my hotel ( Intercontinental) we found this peaceful authentic small temple that worths a detour. People go there to pray, not to visit. Impressive monk at the entrance, meditating under 37*C with no apparent pain.

Wat Pathum is an amzaing place, stands right at middle of shopping malls, next to Paragon. However, once you enter this temple, you will feel breeze and peaceful mind. The temple offers many historic buildings including their main Church and Images of Bhuddha. This year, the museum (being renovated) should be ready for public.

This is one of the old Buddhist temple and built by one of the monarch. The location is very center. It was between Paragon Siam and Centraworld big mall, but once you walk inside the compound, you hardly heard any traffic noise especially at the real garden where the meditation and evening chanting took place. The temple is beautiful and always have local coming to pray. The back garden which was hidden is a real oasis to contemplate. The big trees which were named and the sound of water foundation give nice sensation to calm down the nerve. This is one of my favourite temple in Bangkok especially for evening chanting with monks. And you will be surprised that there are plenty of bottled water and snacks for visitors
