“Taxi Scam @ Platinum area”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 March 2013

This is a very bad experience i had in Bangkok. When the time i did research, everyone was sharing how delicious is the food in T&K seafood, chinatown, bangkok. So, no doubt, after shopping in Platinum mall, me and my friend was waiting taxi outside the mall (as there is a taxi station). A teow chiew taxi driver said he will brings us to chinatown, but when the car is about to start, he suddenly told us Chinatown was closed on today for washing, and asked us want to go for shop or eat. we said 'EAT'. Then he told us, i introduce you to another seafood in town, Pratunam Seafood (which is same boss as T&K seafood in chinatown). So we also agreed to go. Once the taxi reached in front of the shop, the boss came to welcome us and brought us into his restaurant. There is only 1 table tourists in the restaurant. So, we didnt aware of something wrong and we just ordered our food, 1 tomyam for 2 person, and 1 deep fried squid..
who knows...the squid is 400g (120 baht / 100 gram) and we just ordered 2 white rice and 2 drinking water, end up the bill is 1060baht.....(i do not know why there is 17% tax, maybe 10% is for that taxi driver).

The place is far from BTS station, and we decided not to take any taxi / tuk tuk in this place. end up we spent 30-40 mins walked to Chit Lom BTS station . This is very awful........

“SCAM: Avoid this restaurant”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 February 2013

Was brought to this place with my family by a Tuk Tuk driver. I sensed that this place was not right when the Tuk Tuk driver was so eager to promote. My dad decided to give this place a shot anyway. When we arrived, the place was quiet with only a few tables of tourist. We got a shock when we saw the high prices on the menu. All the prices were quoted by quanity (eg. 1000THB per KG). It's very expensive even for a high-end restaurant in Thailand. The boss started to show his frustration when we were asking for the price of everything he recommended. We decided to just order a few simple dishes as we were tired from the whole day of shopping and didnt want to find another restaurant. We went with him to verify the weighing of the seafood, which he obviously wasnt very pleased. There were only 6 of us but they opened 7 bottles of water even though none of the water was empty and made us pay for all of them. For 1 fish, 1 vegetable, 1 squid and 1 tom yum we paid about THB 2700...a total rip off. Do not listen to Tuk Tuk drivers and avoid this place!

I was advised by my hotel staff and travel tour guide to avoid this place. It's pricey and not nice.
