You almost miss it if you blink. A small shop that probably fits 10 people this place is amazing. One chef who does it all in a tiny kitchen visible to the diners. We ordered the lamb hamburger which was mouth watering and the spicy southern Thai massaman pork pie, delicious.
Check it out.

Have been wondering about this hole in the wall around the corner from my apartment and finally walked in the other day with my daughter. Had the best burger in my 5 years in BKK. A perfectly seasoned freshly ground wagyu beef and goat cheese, made with home fries and a tasty salad. Friendly, fun, fresh. Will be back...

To be honest I did not know what to expect in such a small venue, but history has shown some of the best food comes from the smallest places. Chef Bar is so small it does not even have a toilet. So if you need to go, very simply you need to go. Aside from those minor inconveniences, the meal was full of surprises. Chef bar is more or less a one man show as there simply is not room for 2 people behind the counter. The place is very basic and reminded me of the old fashion Mom & Pop places of days before the chain restaurants sent most of them out of business.

With that said, the Mom & Pop places had it all over the chains as there was a personal touch to every meal. Even the mighty KFC started off as a Mom & Pop. Special recipes and a unique flavor is what kept a continuous flow of people warming the seats at the table.

Chef Bar is exactly that. I ordered a beef burger and what I got can only be described as a gourmet burger. Everything from the way the meat was seasoned and cooked to the type of bread and toppings made it a unique experience. As each person has their own taste, you need to go see for yourself. So if you are into exploring unique flavors that can excite your taste buds, then Chef Bar should be on your list.

On the down side, because the places is small and such care is taken, only about 10 to 12 meals can be produced in an hour. So if you are in a rush, then it may be a wise choice to consider other venues as possible backlog at peek hours can be a reality.

So to summerize, appearance is small with zero frills. Very basic and for the most part, I may consider that a down to earth signature. In this case a toilet may be seen as a frill as well.

As for service, first come first serve with only about 10 seats in the venue.

Price and serving size is reasonable for a healthy eater. You are not over full nor are you left hungry.

As for the food, I can only speak of the burger I had, so I can not say about the other items on the limited menu.

As for is it worth going, I would say if you are in the neighborhood and are not in a big rush, then yes. However if you need to travel more than 15 minutes, it may be worth you time to select another venue as you could find yourself waiting for a seat.

I read the reviews on trip advisor and decided to pay a visit. Walked in and wondered, "how could this tiny place make #3 on trip advisor, especially after being open for only 1.5 years." Then I had a burger and understood. It was about 450 Baht - expensive for a burger just about anywhere - but worth every cent. I look forward to returning.
